I wonder, do you think the first two Bill & Ted films were 'reactionary' because of the slurs used in them? I don't think it's too much to ask to have a film not pander to sensitive people who think words are violence, now that doesn't mean appeal to the 'maga chuds' it just means a film shouldn't feel like an aggressive lecture but be something fun, which the first two films had in spades.

They can be - sure. But if every new film/series focuses on men being saved by super females - it stinks of agenda, no?

Furthermore, we've seen more than a fair share of films where women didn't even have super powers (not sci-fi) and yet could do things that only 0.01 percent of women are able to do and in a very different body frame at that - not the supermodel bodies hollywood adores.

Actually, the daughters were just female bill and ted. They were written so blandly that they could have been played by 10 year old boys and been just as important to the plot. They didn't really represent anything political or offensive.

I was hoping for more character from them. Samara Weaving is an awesome actress.

We tried to make them into cool guys. That was stupid. And then when we finally had the idea a few years later, 'Wait, why are we beating our heads against the wall with this? What if they had daughters? What if it's Billie and Thea?' It just opened it up completely. So that's much better idea. And it helped us with something we were trying and to do anyway with the movie, which is -- the first two movies, they are male centric. They were written by boys who knew no better. And so this also gave us a chance to go, 'Let's just widen it, man. Let's like, let there be more of a female presence and just make it more inclusive'.''
