How would you have ended it? (SPOILER WARNING)

I would have brought it more full circle. Have Bond get ambushed in Italy whilst on the way to Vesper's grave. Have him not die at the end but just about make it out alive as Bond always does. End the movie with Bond finally visiting Vesper's grave and he burns Vesper's "Forgive Me" note and then walks away.

I just think thematically the whole Craig era has been about Bond being able to trust someone again after Vesper's betrayal.

Or maybe you liked the ending we got, I don't know but I personally think the ending is a dumpster fire.

reply

I would have ended it with Pierce Brosnan shooting upright in bed.

Halle Berry leans over and says "James are you ok?"

"Yes, I just had the most terrible nightmare. It started off with me smacking heads into toilet sinks in some disgusting bathroom and then it just got worse and WORSE!"

"Don't worry it was all just a really bad dream we can all now thankfully forget. Drink?"

"Yes. Vodka Martini. Shaken not stirred".

John Barry theme kicks in. On screen:-
The Real James Bond Will Return.

The End.

+1

reply

Lol, that gave me a good chuckle, thx.

reply

Brilliant!

reply

Hahahahahaha that would have been epic

reply

Now THAT would have been a proper Bond ending.

reply

I am going steal that.

reply

Oh I so wish that would happen... so long as the invisible car doesn't come back with him!

It's weird how the real Bond theme music doesn't feature at all anymore. I think that just displays how Bond died with Brosnan.

reply

Love this, although I’d swap out Brosnan for Craig at the end of Casino Royale. That film is a masterpiece and can’t be tossed aside.

reply

yeah well i'm glad you don't get your way. I like the Daniel Craig movies.

reply

I'd buy that for a dollar!

reply

And then a black cat walks by, meowing.

And then a black cat walks by, meowing.

It happens when they change something.

reply

thank you for this

reply

Just before credits I would have liked Bond to crawl out of the rubble with the caption;

James Bond will be back in "Chemically Reanimated Zombie Bond"

reply

Bionic Bond: "James Bond, superspy. A man barely alive. We can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was. Better...stronger...faster."

reply

And then a shot with him running in slow motion, but it's supposed to make him look fast?

reply

Just before Bond gets blown to smithereens, Paloma (Ana de Armas) swings down from a rescue helicopter offering Bond her hand. Bond takes it and is saved, on the rescue rope they kiss and 007 says to her “You were excellent!” “You Too!” she laughingly replies between kisses as the helicopter flies them to safety.

reply

Life, uh.. finds a way.

reply

And as he gets in the copter the nanobites kill her ass and then Bond can go back to banging every woman he meets again.

reply

The better ending would have been him escaping but when they speak to him about his family his reply is simply tell them I'm dead.

reply

The only real difference I was rooting for was for Bond to shoot Lyusifer in the knees, and open the blast doors and drop him into the acid pool alive, instead of just shooting him dead.

reply

I would have ended it with Bond defeating the bad guys, getting the girl and then the next movie has little to nothing to do with No Time To Die as James Bond movies should always been standalone films

reply

100% agreed with this one and make Ana de Armas the main bond girl killing Madeline at the beginning so no daughter and emotional relationship.

We wanted to finally get the old James Bond Back. Which they promised in Skyfall. It’s why we all loved the end of that movie (Skyfall) it promised all of us the comeback of the Old days Bond.

reply

That would have been far better than what we got. Giving Bond a family was so damn stupid not to mention they didn’t provide a logical reason to kill him off

reply

Or how about this if they want a definite conclusion to the Craig Era: Bond fakes his death at the end so he can get out of MI6 (much like what Mallory alludes to in Skyfall), everyone at MI6 pays tribute to him and mourns his death but later Q and Moneypenny see him with his family, enjoying life, and having left the burden of being a superspy behind him.

reply

Much better.

reply

>> later Q and Moneypenny see him with his family, enjoying life <<

"Enjoying life" is something Craig's Bond would never do. Even when he's "off duty", his Bond looks perpetually pissed off, burnt out, and hung over. "Bond enjoying life" works with any 007 (Connery, Moore, Dalton, etc.) EXCEPT Craig.

Though I was SHOCKED to discover in the movie "Knives Out" that Craig IS capable of playing likeable and charismatic characters. He's certainly never done so in the Bond series!

reply

Somewhere in there, Michael Caine nods approvingly...

reply

Using his emp watch to kill the nanobots ... Then again not having such a contrived random plot device to force his death in the first place.

reply

"Using his emp watch to kill the nanobots ..."

That's actually sort of brilliant.

Imagine if one of the final scenes -- after the island has been vapourized -- we see Q looking ill as he looks up from his array of screens: "I've made a YUGE mistake!"
