There's a lot of people yelling at them too.
Some people reacted in the Twitter feed by saying there should be laws against this, but I think that would only create more as a backlash and a bunch of copycats, and then things could turn very violent. I certainly what wouldn't want this to be a trend, not wearing masks as a political statement is dumb enough. I wonder how long it'll be before people exclaim out loud how they don't have to wash their hands after taking a shit because it's not against the law.

Pity that COVID doesn't preferentially hit stupid people; then at least it would have evolutionary value.
I'm not againts your point here, but that's not how evolution works.
See, evolution works by using offsprings... and as we can see nowadays, the most intelligent of people don't breed as much, and the least intelligent would breed more.
So if a disease preferentially hit stupid people, it might reduce the overall population because survivors simply breed less. It could even bring the species to the brink of extiction.
The value of evolution is on how it ensures survivalibility of the species (or more specifically, the gene.) Making the species more intelligent is simply a side effect, not the purpose of evolution. However, if by being stupider is actually better for survivalibility and longevity of the species then evolution would ensure that too.
Even if it did, they still have a 99.7% chance of survival...
