But the worst was when the European woman was telling her friend about this horrible problem that's driving her mad and that she went to see a neurologist. The friend asks: "What did he say?" and the other one primly corrects her "she".

shareLook at the stats of today. Women are going to college and graduating far more than men. Also, men are our own worst enemy because most male bosses would rather hire females to work with because they are easier to manage, they can be paid less, they often have children so they are stuck at jobs more.
There are a lot of factors that contribute to this. Research scientists in general and therapists are often paid less than MBA's and CEO's etc.
But, I did notice that this series was a massive in your face with diversity. The series to me did not seem very good. I can't really say how much the diversity had to do with being irritated with this series, but it was more than apparent. I don't mind it unless it gets really ridiculous. I did not really care for this series.
Even though the effects were not as good, and it was long and drawn out, and it had pretty spotty subtitiles, I enjoyed the Chinese version of this story more. I thought the Chinese version was more human and character driven, and it had some humor to it which was completely missing in the Hollywood version.
Did you notice that some of the Executive Producers were Brad Pitt and Rosamun Pike, who have a bit of animus with China. At least Pitt does because his movies were banned from China for his Seven Years in Tibet movie.
I thought it was interesting in the nano-fiber slicing of the tanker ship they showed children being killed for the purpose of saving the planet and was wondering if that was at all influenced by Oct. 7th in Israel. It was pretty cold blooded for a Hollywood movie.
More women are going to college, but they're mostly in humanities and social science ("grievance studies") majors, not physics, engineering, chemistry, etc.
