post a controversial entertainment opinion

steve martin is and was never funny. see the pink panther remake for evidence.

reply

The Indiana Jones movies are extremely mediocre.

reply

True. Even the first one doesn't fair well on a second viewing.

reply

The Temple of Doom was the best one, yet its hated on a wide scale

reply

Last Crusade is best.

reply

Thats not controversial, its usually accepted to say that. Even though The Last Crusade is an excellent movie, I prefer Temple of Doom because it feels like a true adventure film. Theres no Nazis, the setting and ambiance is perfect, short round is there, "Kali ma, Kali ma, Kali MAAAA, Shuck di day"! You have minecart madness, and bridges over a chasm of crocodiles. Its high adventure! Its own story and setting where the world could have been in peril yet no one knew about it!

reply

Most Indy fans would say anything but Raiders being best is sacrilege, but I only mention Crusade being best because, while I love Temple, Crusade has a much better artefact at its centre - the Holy Fucking Grail - which beats some meh Hindu rocks, and the interplay between Ford and Connery is absolute gold. Also Alison Doody might be the hottest woman ever.

reply

I concur. Grew up around Indy movies and for some reason Last Crusade peaked my interest the most with Temple of Doom the least. I also played the old DOS game of Indiana Jones Last Crusade as well including Fate of Atlantis. Ah, good times.

reply

Deeply wrong, the Indy Trilogy is a masterclass in filmmaking as well as being amongst the most entertaining and rewatchable films ever made.

reply

I find the films boring and the premise of a college professor who also leaves for extended periods of time to be a death defying archaeologist to be ridiculous.

reply

ON THIS...WE AGREE.

reply

If you find The Indiana Jones Trilogy boring then your brain is damaged and you hate film, they are the very definition of expertly crafted filmic entertainment.

reply

they are the very definition of expertly crafted filmic entertainment.

reply

Finally you dropped the obnoxious all-caps writing and, look at that, you made a good point.

reply

reply

Many could say the same thing about the Blade Runner opinion you made below.

reply

They could, but theyā€™d all be wrong.

šŸ˜²šŸ˜² The Indiana Jones movies, especially I and III, are just great.

reply

Now we must fight.

Raiders of the Lost Ark shits all over The Master, a movie what's story & directing lack a chromosome.

reply

You don't want to fight me. I have an amazing right hook.

reply

OK! OK! No more demonstrations! I yield! The Master is a perfect genius movie that shames the seed-scratching Raiders of the Lost Ark.

reply

Lol, yes. I actually enjoy the Mummy "rip-off" much more.

reply

yes. indiana jones is so overrate!!

as is die hard, the dark night, anything by quentan tarantinos

reply

Agree. No way he could top Peter Sellers in that role.

reply

Neither is Will Ferrell. Never watched any of that Ron Burgundy garbage.

reply

FERRELL IS BETTER WHEN RESTRAINED BUT HARDLY EVER IS...STRANGER THAN FICTION AND STEP BROTHERS ARE STONE COLD FAVORITES OF MINE...THE REST ARE A MIXED BAG.

reply

Stranger than Fiction is excellent!

reply

i thought he was funny on snl. not a big fan of his movies except for old school

reply

I kinda liked Stranger than Fiction and Everything Must Go....but I avoid all his other films. I don't find him funny.

reply

Elf,?
Step brothers?

reply

Both Blade Runner films are boooorrrriiinng!

reply

i like the first one. the one with gosling wasn't very good.

reply

I like the first one too, almost entirely because it looks and sounds incredible and Ridleyā€™s world-building is second to none. Where he falls down is in character - he even manages to make Harrison Ford, one of the most charismatic movie stars ever, painfully dull and almost impossible to empathise with, especially when he gets rapey.

The film is beautiful but boring, only Hauerā€™s Roy Batty brings things to life.

As for the sequel, it didnā€™t have the future-noir visuals and cool synth-sax score of the original, and it was a half hour longer, and was directed by bore-king Villeneuve, so it was even more boooorrriiiiinnng!

reply

yes blade runner is most overrate film in historys!!

i turn it off as it so boring.

reply

Well Steve Martin was kind of a sad sack comedian though wasn't he. A different kettle of fish altogether from Peter Sellers who was a one-off lunatic and very talented.

reply

but people still think martin is some comic genius.

reply

I do not think that he is some comic genius but he was really good in "dirty rotten scoundrels" šŸ‘

reply

Cats is a good movie!

reply

i still say you are the only one.

reply

Meow!

reply

You didn't have to do this.

reply

Meow!

reply

YOU SICK FUCKING BASTARD.

reply

Meow!

reply

allaby should get some kind of award for liking this movie.

reply

EVEN MY DAUGHTER HATES IT...I GAVE HER THE BLU-RAY AS A JOKE GIFT AND SHE KEEPS TRYING TO GIVE IT BACK.

reply

I can't believe you've done this.

reply

Meow!

reply

Thatā€™s not Allaby! Thatā€™s Tom Hopper with a fake beard!

reply

Meow!

(I'm actually Tom's cat with a beard.)

reply

Oh meow you didnā€™t.

reply

I liked Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines!

reply

I think it's a great movie. Not as good as the first two, but still a great ride.

reply

I agree!

reply

I will never consider it canonā€¦ but it is undeniably entertaining.

reply

Same!

reply

I do too, and furthermore, I like it better than Terminator 2, which was ruined by Linda Hamilton being annoying, and non-actor Edward Furlong being even more annoying. The first movie is my favorite one by far though, and Linda Hamilton wasn't annoying in that one.

reply

Yeah, I see what you mean. The first film was a good thriller!

reply

Yep good film.

reply

i like terminator salvation and think it is best terminator sequel apart from t2.

reply

I liked Halle Berry in Catwoman. Smokin' hot! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6pJbjbRnAA

reply

SHE WAS REALLY GOOD..EVERYTHING ELSE WAS PRETTY BAD THOUGH.

reply

For years I saw her as one of the most beautiful women, ever. It blew my mind when I learned she had attempted suicide over a failed relationship. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-berry/halle-berry-admits-to-suicide-attempt-idUSN2926190020070329

reply

I WASN'T EVEN AWARE OF THAT...UNTIL NOW.

reply

Speaking of which, who even knows of her ex? I sure as hell don't but people sure know of her!

reply

She stunning, maybe the woman with the most beautiful face in Hollywood and one of the few females I know who look amazing in short hair.

She also have a good heart
