So it's basically a porn movie with necrophile undertones featuring unattractive people having sex?

I must ask... What's the point?

reply

It is about as some comments put it:"a woman who wants independence and freedom, sexual and otherwise, without having to live her life by rules established by men."

I think it is the adult version of Barbie, the main purpose was to educate men, and to that end a lot of nudity is needed, otherwise why would any men want to watch such a film?

reply

Even with knowledge of all that nudity, her blank, androgynous, pissy-looking face is keeping me from working up very much enthusiasm for this.

I can see how she could live her life free from rules established by men, because she isn't very appealing to them (me, anyway) and could easily fly under their radar.

reply

But men can walk away from pregnancies.

reply

men are forced to pay child support even though women choose to give birth.

reply

Yeah, good luck finding that random dude you screwed at spring break in Cancun.

reply

You should probably avoid hookups if that's your situation.

reply

Funny how when men write women who want freedom and independence, they write about the woman expressing their independence by fucking around. When women write stories about women wanting freedom and independence, they write about women sailing solo around the world or buying an old house in Tuscany or something.

reply

You've got a point there.

The writers and the director are all men.

reply

Emma Stone seemed to find the role as an empowering one. If she disagreed with it she had the power to do so.

reply

What kind of boring-ass porn do you watch? Emma’s itty bitties and her bush qualifies as porn? Give Jenna Jameson a look-see.

reply

Jenna Jameson looks like gollum with plastic titties.

reply

LOL

reply

Promises, promises.

reply

as if you won't be watching.

reply

OK OK - you can stop selling me on it!

reply

The point is simple:

Make it lude, excessive, pretty, and call it a social commentary to get cred from people who think they're sophisticated.

In reality, it will be forgotten because no one wants to see Mark Ruffalo without a shirt.

reply

That about sums it up. She also talks about "philosophy" and "socialism" (putting them in quotes because saying the words is about all she says about them) to give it some fake depth. No idea why people are falling for this crap.

reply

Lol, exactly. The fact that Bella thinks she "seized the means of production" now that she is a *prostitute* tells you all you need to know about the depth of the writer's knowledge -.-

reply

In fact his film is more Foucaultian - and I don't mean that as a compliment.

reply

Oh, i know exactly what you mean

reply

Woke Thought inevitably traces back to Foucalt

reply

I don't know what the movie is about, but that post headline alone was great

reply

Maybe I should offer it to the marketing company for a tagline!

reply

You forgot the pedophilia in your title, since Ruffalo is fucking an minor with the excuse that she's in a woman's body

reply

At least Ruffalo didn't know she is an minor (if I remember correctly). Max, the "good guy", having sex with her and wanted to get married although he know everything about her medical history.
