Watched It Yesterday and the movie is freaking awesome.
Eventhough they changed the narrative (in the games the Mario brothers have to save the Princess) and now Mario have to save his brother... And the Princess is now a strong independent woman... Both Mario and Luigi are the ones that beat Bowser and save both realms.
Even if they let you go at 5pm... Of they put you right back at the break room when you arrive the next day, they would feel that they never left the room. So for the "innies" It would be like if they've been in the break room for several hours non stop.
