So is Michael Myers magical or just really tough to kill?

Not really sure how Myers' and the Halloween universe is defined, or what the rules are. For example, we now know after multiple sequels that Jason Voorhees is magical because he's reincarnated, dug up from the underground and revived by lightning, can survive underwater for weeks in a harbor, and can live through being frozen for hundreds of years by liquid nitrogen.

Same thing with Freddy. He actually exists in a parallel dream universe and can influence reality. No debate about that one, the writers got right to the point.

What about Myers? He's been shot multiple times, stabbed, hit with blunt objects repeatedly, fallen out of windows, and been burned alive in a basement cage. I guess its possible to survive all of that. I do not recall magic being involved, just that he is the essence of evil.

I just think its a plot hole. Michael Myers should have been killed several times already

reply

I agree it's a huge plot hole. Half the script ended up in the fireplace to get the runtime down. Could have had someone explain the situation in a voiceover or something like that though.

reply

The fact that something like this isnt fully explained by a certain point in the movie isnt a plot hole

reply

Laurie mentions something about Michael being not human and growing stronger from killing but she also thinks he’s obsessed with coming after her and that doesn’t seem to be true. She knows jack shit.

The Director has said Michael isn’t supernatural. That has to be a complete lie, right?

reply

Exactly. No plot hole. Suspensing disbelief, maybe. Plot device, maybe. Not a plot hole. A plot hole is something the writers overlooked or made inconsistent, not a ruse to produce more and more installments in a saga

reply

If someone doesn't take a piss throughout the coarse of a film these guys will label it a plot hole.

reply

I don't get people like you. Michael was shot 6 times at the end of the first movie for Christ's sake. He's been burned, beaten, shot, stabbed, maimed, and he lives. How much more evidence do you need that he's super natural? He's evil incarnate. You even said it yourself.

There's no explanation for Jason not dying btw; or randomly coming back in part 2 after being dead for a decade.

The beauty of the original (‘78) film is....that we simply didn’t know, and that was scary.

The shame about each subsequent sequel is...we know way too much about him, and see him too often. Everyone in the sequels knows his backstory....his family life....his upbringing....his address, etc. SMH.

reply

He got shot 6 times and fell off the balcony, you didn't know from that point?

reply

LOL

reply

Yeah, but it doesn't matter what I think. It's what the writers think, because that's what makes it true. Just like when people ask George Lucas if Han really shot Guido first. If he says yes, then its true. If he says no, then its not true. If Harrison Ford says yes, no one cares.

reply

First of all, fuck Lucas and his "special" editions.

The writers of Halloween made Michael get up after being shot 6 times and falling out a window.

reply

Yeah but a person could survive that

reply

No they could not, LOL.

reply

You knew his back story in the original and saw him as a 6 year old kid murder his sister

reply

I thought at the end of this one, they confirmed that he was. Something about the spirit of evil animating him or some such mumbo jumbo.

reply

No, he just burned up in a fire again.

reply

They didn't pay attention to Laurie's monolog

reply

There's no hard confirmation in the sense that an exact, specific, and detailed answer is stated - and they are smart to do that. Less is more. The Thorn was a specific answer and it sucked. But is Michael an inhuman force driven by some kind of evil and hate? Absolutely.

reply

The proper response is, "Evil never dies."

reply

They'll probably bring up the Thorn in Ends

reply

He is the boogeyman. Have you seen boogeyman die?

reply

Yes.

reply

Lie.

reply

They need to chop up his body in pieces and burn it into ashes. End of story.. let's see his ashes recombine and form a human body again... I think not.

reply

Nope. See the T-1000 in T2.

reply

MAGICALLY TOUGH TO KILL.
