How did this crap make nearly $3 billion??

What were people thinking? Can you even remember a single character's name?

reply

I know... it's boring to re-watch. Can't believe all these sequels are being made.

reply

It stunk....it was the 3d fad that fueled this movie...

Blue?

reply

I can't remember one. I can, however, remember every single marine character's name in Aliens, even the ones we barely saw anything of.

Jake Sully, Neytiri, Rourke.

James Cameron was the director and it was said to do new things on the 3D front, so most people went to see it. I was one of them.

I think a better question is why in the hell is Cameron wasting the waning years of his career on four fucking sequels that almost no one is asking for?

reply

This is what bothers me. Avatar is a fun movie but nothing amazing outside of the visuals, which are stunning. But the fact that he's pretty much doing nothing but Avatar for the rest of his life sucks.

reply

James Cameron's decision-making in the past decade has been completely baffling. How could the man who has always been known for his extraordinarily ability to shoot for the stars and hit them decide that the best move for his legacy and his waning years on this earth be to make five fucking Avatar movies?

I have no idea. It's mind-boggling and totally sucks for film fans.

reply

A lot of people complained that it was just "Dances with Wolves in Space." Which it kinda is.

reply

Because he apparently thinks he can get all his sci-fi ideas out through this avenue and solidify his own gigantic franchise. Whether it was a good decision remains to be seen.

reply

Beautiful CGI ruined if you saw it in 3D. Stupid plot. Stupider dialogue. Once left wing cliche after another.

reply

As a marketing phenomenon it's interesting to see how 3D was promoted so strongly, but as a movie, it's just a very expensive cartoon at best, a cliche at worst.

reply

Jake Sully, Neytiri, Parker Selfridge, and Quaritch.

reply

I bet you just used Google.

reply

Didnt need to. I remember I almost didnt list Selfridge, but recalled it because there was also a PBS show called Mr Selfridge, and I think it was playing around the time I answered this.

I am surprised I didnt remember Quaritch's first name at the time, which is Miles I do believe.

reply

no, I can't remember anything but I went to see it because of the 3D.

reply

I liked it.
