George Floyd

The media seems glued to this whole thing about GEORGE FLOYD! People are getting killed every day, but no........ the media is stuck on George Floyd! I'm so sick of hearing about him!!!!!

reply

You're right. Let's talk about Pink Floyd. Anyone else love the cover art for "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn"? https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/81Kzmcv5wXL._AC_SL1300_.jpg

reply

Pink Floyd is my favorite band ever, but I listen to their 70s stuff, maybe with the exception of "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun" which is their first great song. Amazing lyrics, one of my favorite riffs ever, just a dark mood throughout.

I wouldn't be surprised if the attorney played an edited version with "Careful With The Blacks, Eugene"

reply

George was so Fearless, but you're telling me he died In the Flesh? I understand he couldn't Breathe, but he was walking on Thin Ice.

reply

I loved that especially for it's Michael Moorcock connection.

reply

I want to go to Norway or Sweden and stay in one of those dome hotels to watch the Northern Lights - get high, listen to some Pink Floyd and classical music. It's definitely on my bucket list.

reply

We have Northern Lights in Canada, though I've never been. It would be cool to go to Sweden or Finland and stay in those domes.

reply

I've seen people I know feeling so bad for George, and now they hate him. A relative (who is not welcome anymore) actually said, "Fuck that asshole", as if it was his fault the media milks it for all the money it can make them.

I don't like this defense attorney, Half-Nelson, but Donald Williams is a little bit strange. Too much smiling and laughter. When he wiped the sweat of his hands, he kept whispering "Championship... Championship", and then when the same attorney was about to show him an exhibit, Williams was bobbing his head up and down like he had headphones on. The jury could be swayed not by what's being said, but by body language and how they feel about each witness personally.

The video shown yesterday was even more disgusting. Fuck Mr. Chauvinist.

reply

He deserves to be put away for a long time.

reply

Saint George who was buried in a gold coffin. Sheesh.

reply

The Holy Martyr Saint George "Pretty Boy" Floyd should have been buried in a copper coffin seeing it was a copper who done him in.

reply

yet another example of an unambiguous act of evil strenuously defended by many.

sad.

reply

I've been watching the trial from the very beginning and I'm pretty captivated by it.

reply

Same.. The last time a trial was televised (that I can remember) was OJ.

reply

Yes. I followed that one as closely as possible also.

I agree with you about that defense attorney. He has appeared consistently weak and now, even inept. He asked the current witness if she agreed that her video basically "speaks for itself". A few moments later she countered another question by saying, "Like you said, the video speaks for itself." Who's he working for, his client or the prosecution? That's the very point they stressed to the jury in opening statements, that jurors should trust their common sense and what they were seeing for themselves.

reply

Tired of George Floyd? Then make sure your local police department is kept accountable. That's the only way to stop these incidents.

reply

That's the only way to stop these incidents

Which incidents are you referring to?

reply

Why are you asking such an obvious question? You just posted the statistics.

reply

That's the only way to stop these incidents

You said "these". SO you are referring to particular incidents.

So which incidents are you referring to? All murders or just by colour?

reply

Any unwarranted shootings.

reply

Any unwarranted shootings

I agree all should be held accountable regardless of colour (won't say race as their is only 1 race, the Human Race)

Unfortunately if George Floyd was white no one would have given a toss. The only reason this is even news is because he was black and the lie that blacks are being hunted down by the police needs to keep being pushed.

7300 homicides of black people. 14 were killed by police who were unarmed.

Yeh keep pushing the lie.

reply

In the statistics that you shared, 457 white and 223 African Americans were shot to death by the police in 2017. If you consider the white population in 2017 was 249.27 million and the black population was 43.37 million, then it is equivalent to say 249.27M minus 457 white Americans and 43.37M minus 223 African Americans were not shot to death in 2017. Based on your logic, doesn't that mean white Americans are much less likely to get killed by police?

reply

Do I think Derek Chauvin should be found guilty? Yes. But do I think that's going to change the justice system much? No. George Floyd was arrested 8 times. As some point you have to wonder why the justice system allows people with a criminal record like his to just walk around free. Before it even gets to police brutality, there is a problem with sentencing. How many times do we see pedos only get 6 months in jail? Why should murderers ever be allowed parole? The whole thing needs to be fixed from top to bottom.

reply

I agree that the entire justice system needs a major overhaul.

reply

Nothing that reinstating and enthusiastically enforcing the death penalty wouldn't fix. And none of this lethal injection, electric chair bullshit and no endless appeals. Just a bullet in the back of the head and it's done. Cheap, quick and effective.

reply

[deleted]

Will Chauvin testify?

reply

Notice how no TV show is even close in accuracy to how a REAL trial is?

I couldn't watch that shitty show where someone finds the "pandora's box file" or the confession right before the verdict.

reply

George Floyd killed himself. The toxicology report proves that. He didn't die because of the cop.

reply

Reality doesn't matter anymore in modern western countries. He was black, so he's a victim by default. Whites must whip themselves.

The fact that he had a drug overdose and that the trachea is NOT is the back of the neck and it's physically impossible to choke somebody just by pressing there is just some irrelevant annoying thing.

reply

You are right. It doesn't matter. And they will loot the local Target stores no matter the verdict.

reply

Not necessarily. They are having an expert come in and talk to about tolerance. Flloyd had been using opioids for several years, so its unlikely he overdosed on that day.

It reminds me of a Kurt Cobain documentary. The argument was that someone murdered him because the amount of heroin in his system was fatal....Not so fast says the medical expert! He explained that someone who has been using heroin for a sustained period of time can handle a large dose that would kill the average person. To prove this, he provided footage of a man in the police station, who had enough heroin in him to kill a horse, yet there he was standing on his on 2 feet.

reply

funny, but i saw a guy kneeling on his neck for 9 minutes right before he died. i'm sure that was just a coincidence.

reply

It very likely was. George Floyd was a mess. And he did it to himself, too.

reply

you're nuts.

reply

Did you see the video of Floyd. He didn't know if it was day or night he was so out of it.
