seen it...was bored for most of it

stupid plot about wanda wanting to be a mom of two boys and willing to destroy the universe to get it.

limp love story between dr strange and the ageing Rachel McAddams.

ridiculous opening of fighting a one eyed octypus.

long periods of dull conversation...I turned to my friend and said at one point 'I'm bored'.

And the 'horror' that I was promised wasn't scary in the slightest....if anything, the whole thing was comical.

Don't bother wasting your money on this turkey.

Its crap.

Next!

reply

My sympathies to that friend who had to listen to your laundry list of complaints throughout the film

reply

Lol, that is what I was thinking too 😁

reply

Wanda was the highlight of the film, what an amazing character!

reply

She was so powerful and her scenes were so intense. I really loved how she was able to take on the whole film by herself. She was amazing and I can't wait to see her again in the next film.

reply

Indeed, I really don't think she died, she will be back!

reply

She has a great set.

reply

It was okay but didn't have one second of cleavage in the whole movie.

reply

If you have to remark on Rachel McAdams "aging," then the same thing should be said about Benedict Cumberbatch. Why are female love interests always expected to be youthful while males are not?

reply

She's 43 and still hot.

Hell Aunt may was damn near 60 and still smoking. The OP's complaints were silly.

reply

his skin is as tight as a 21 year old old....he's had plenty of work. She needs to see his skin doctor.

reply

Arent you supposed to be "Christian"? Not a very charitable comment to make about someone, if thats the case. She is age appropriate for Cumberbatch and still looks great. I don't see why the comment is relevant unless it stems from personal security which I can understand.

reply

being a Christian doesn't mean I close my eyes.

She's aged.

Badly.

reply

You sound about as Christian as Joe Biden.

reply

Why are female love interests always expected to be youthful while males are not?

Males are usually attracted to young beautiful females. Females are usually attracted to strong self-confident males. Movies only portray what it's found more attractive.

reply

I never thought the trailers looked good, I am not surprised. Sam Raimi is not the director he once was but I doubt its his fault. Was John Krasinski in this?

reply

He is, and the film is excellent. Raimi delivered.

reply

Sam Raimi is awesome, but this movies sucked. I think it was Feige and the other creatives' fault for the movie turning out the way it did. The script was rushed and Raimi did not know the movie's ending while he was shooting it. It was all haphazard nonsense. Similar issues that ruined Spider Man 3.

The OP is also correct.

Wanda's motivation for being evil "to preserve her fake children" is weak at best, also, it was supposed to be resolved in the Wanda Vision tv series, why are the writers rehashing it?

Dr Strange basically has no arc, he's just doing stuff. Cumberbatch even says so.

The horror unfortunately doesn't shine coz you need setup, and build up to it. A Sam Raimi trying to give his 'Drag Me To Hell' edge in a sanitized Disney controlled movie is next to impossible.

reply

Similar issues that ruined Spider Man 3.

Yeah, right. That was easily the best of the trilogy.

reply

I agree although I didn't think it was "crap" or a "turkey". Just very average. Not bad and not great. The Illuminati were disappointing. They defeated Thanos yet barely put up a fight (Captain Marvel aside) against Wanda? Especially Reed Richards.

The whole film was Miss America being chased by Wanda over and over again. Also I didn't see the bit from the trailers where Dr Strange with the third eye says "things just got out of hand" so there may have been a lot reshoots/editing.

reply

It probably sucks to pay to watch it. But I bet it'll be very serviceable when flickering through channels at home and there's nothing else on.

reply

Marvel movies since Endgame have been just dreadful. They have to start completely fresh and do something different because these movies plots are just terrible and they are boring. How are superhero movies boring? There only objective is to be entertaining and they can’t do that

reply

The same here. I am starting to fast forward since "The eternals". I suspect I will probably do it for this one too.

Anyway, marvel movies are no longer worth it watching in cinemas, streaming I think is the way to go.
