Female empowerment is going into overdrive now. Its kind of building on Wonder Woman almost Marvels version of WW. Its leading on directly from the biggest MCU & its the film leading into Endgame. The fact its actually got 'Marvel' in the title will help it overseas
I don't see this movie putting up the usual foreign BO that MCU films do. Those films are driven by international stars, not just spectacle. And. It's a girl. And a lot of the world just ain't that progressive.

From what the Director Duo has emphasized the movie is a search for Carol's Humanity which is what defines her and not Hero Worship because she has powers.

And while some fans are backlashingat Brie's comments, there is no doubt she will play a huge role in End Game. So skipping this film would be bad for continuity sake. it's clearly going to opening very strong, but i'm going to say that the rather middling reviews will tamp down the multiplier, though that will be somewhat offset by end game momentum, leaving it with a 2.5 or so.
opening weekend - $145 domestic, $340 worldwide.
final gross - $360 domestic, $850 worldwide
I had been thinking between 120 to 140 M for the last 2 months....
The last week I settled on 135M.
It now looks like a 150 M+ OW is probably coming...
as far as World Wide...I'm thinking somewhere between 800 to 925M
domestic for me is still unknown...
I got to see the Opening Weekend...
If it comes where I'm expecting at 135 M...then CM is probably heading for a 350 Million domestic total
If it comes in over 150 M...all signs point to 400 M +

With a 150 M dollar Budget, A Debuting character thats never been in a major motion picture before, and A character that is "C List" in the comics and A comic book movie with based on a FEMALE Superhero....
theres simply no other word to describe its success than GRANDSLAM...
Hell...I declared and still Declared Wonder Woman a Grandslam...but Captain Marvel is simply on another level...
Wonder Woman is an "A-list" superhero...she was introduced in a Massive Event movie in BvS....and the movie had the advantage of a massive Womens movement getting behind it...
and the results were amazing, a 100 M+...400 M+ domestic and 800 M+ WW...
lol Captain Marvel is about to beat all that despite having none of those advantages...
basically Marvel Studios is about to take A "C List" female character, with no benefit of an Introduction in an Event film and No Massive Women's movement behind it....and Literally OUT-DO DC's Ultimate "A List" female character...
again BOTH are Grandslam...but its clear CM and Marvel Studios are just on another level
You're right, all CM had in the way of a lead-in was that credits scene in Infinity War that most people either missed or didn't understand, whereas Wonder Woman was first introduced in BvS (and was basically the only positive element of that movie).
