OFFICIAL!!!! Nominated for Best Picture.

Ouch!

I would like to see the faces of the morons in this forum who have been trashing the movie. Kleenex free for all of you...

reply

Bets Picture??

There was ONE scene at a casino! That is so unfair!

reply

Now we are receiving information that online orders on Pfizer are skyrocketing. There must be permanent damage over this nomination.

reply

Very good action movie but best picture??.Award shows are slowly becoming an irrelevant joke.

reply

The oscars stumbled into irrelevance about twenty-five years ago.

reply

This completely average superhero movie gets SEVEN nomination, while Infinity War, which was superior in every way, gets ONE. Yeah, we totally don't have an agenda.

reply

Affirmative action nomination.

reply

DCEU fantards will be all over this , lots of edgelords will be salty tonight

reply

I just had to Google what an edgelord was, making me officially 'get off my lawn' old

reply

It’s just an average superhero movie...but with a mostly black cast, which is the sole reason for its nomination.

The only movie of that genre that should of been nominated for best picture was the Dark Knight, and not even that got nominated, this is just sad virtue signalling but what do you expect from the people who voted a bestiality film as best picture last year!

reply

im not going to argue with you on that , it was over rated

reply

Exactly.

reply

I'd say Watchmen as well. Dark Knight at least got nominated in many other categories, but Watchmen didn't get any acknowledgement at the Oscars at all.

reply

Since it was so predicted, I wonder if that had anything to do with them deciding not to do a Most Popular category like they'd been considering

reply

I suspect this might have been included as sort of a backlash against the "Popular Film" award being pulled back which is where they expected this would win. The Academy is probably expecting it to lose and use that as ammo to justify the creation of the Pop Award.

reply

PS: Before I get slammed, I am not saying this was a bad film just not a Best Picture.

reply

It wasn't even the best popular film, in fact quite far from it.

reply

How is that? Did you know BP was the highest grossing film of 2018 in North America? By the way, the Academy where the Oscars comes from is located in North America, so popularity in China, India or wherever does not count for them.

So, after you logic, what's your supposed most popular movie in 2018.

reply

What is *your* logic in saying this, exactly? That the best popular film award should go to the highest grossing one?? How does that relate to artistic merit?

I am saying that just off the top of my head I can name like half a dozen popular films from 2018 alone that were better movies.
