Absolutely ridiculous. I hope you realize this has nothing to do with the quality of the film, which I thought was decent by the way.

Enjoyable movie, but in no way worth a best picture nomination.

If any MCU film was going to be nominated, it should've been Infinity War. It beats Black Panther on every single level, and it's not close.

It deserves Best Costumes maybe, but not Best Picture. It's kind of cool to see a MCU film get the nod, but it's clearly agenda driven

My thoughts are.

IMO....and I want to make this absolutely clear that this is ONLY my opinion and I'm in no way saying that My Opinion is what The majority believes, In fact, I fully recognize, what I'm about to say Is NOT shared by the majority at all

but With a best picture nomination and 6 other Oscars...IMO Black Panther could now be the most overrated film in History.

we are talking a 97% on RT, A+ cinemadcore, 700 + domestically, 1.3 B+ WW and Now 7 Oscars???

I'm sorry those are the stats of an All TIME Great film....Not A Movie like Black Panther.

I am one of the biggest MCU fans, I have liked to love 17 of the 20 MCU films.

I like Black Panther, But I consider it a good movie, Maybe a #5 to 7 ranked MCU film....I rated it 7.5 to 8 out of 10.

I feel This movie has DRASTICALLY over performed BOTH Box office and Reception wise due to its cultural impact

A Best Picture Nomination is Absurd...and IMO completely a result of its cultural impact.

again I fully recognize, That My opinion that the movie is Just good, In in the minority, I fully recognize the overwhelming Majority feel its great

IMO I'm just stating I believe this films level of Greatness has been drastically overvalued due to its cultural impact. I think people WANT this film to do great and Be Great because of what it represents

The biggy here for me, is...I just do not feel THIS is the comic book movie that deserves a best picture Nom.

I feel Logan is literally Levels above Black Panther.

I feel there are a number of MCU films that are much higher quality including The Avengers,Iron Man, Captain America 2 and Civil War....IMO any of these films are higher quality than BB.

and finally, I do not even remotely see BB being on the same level as The Dark Knight(the only other CBM to get a Nom,)

I get that every year is different, and BB is getting a Nom. for 2018.

But IMO Black Panther truly may not even be in the top 10 best CBM's...for me its impossible to see it deserving a Best Picture Nom.

and To my close case ...I dont even feel BB is best Comic book movie of 2018...

I dont believe Avengers Infinity War deserves a best picture nom., But I do think AIW is a higher quality film, and If one of them had to get a best picture nom,...IMO AIW deserved it more.


at this point, I honestly would not be surprised if BB WON...

for me, There is a level of absurdity going on with this movie that would almost seem fitting that it ends with a Best Picture WIN...
