Finale is terrible

Did not like it at all.

SPOILERS

Grogu comes to save the day again. He's everywhere. What are the writers thinking ? Fennic Shand kills the Pykes leader ? Really ? Boba took a back seat a lot in this finale of his own show.

Only standout was Fett vs Cad Bane, although it was a bit short.

reply

Did Rodriguez forget how to direct action? Anyhow, I enjoyed the hell out of it once it became a kaiju fan fiction orgy of destruction. That's some good tv right there. Man, I was so happy at the end when the bad guys were all being assassinated. Here's Boba back in action, ruthless killer. Nah, fooled you! It's the girl because of course it is. Then I had to pause the last frame and stare at the screen for ten minutes before I finally figured out who was in the tank. They could have zoomed that camera in juuuust little closer. This whole series was just a big sloppy means to an end, setting up other future projects.

reply

took me 1 second to recognize who was in the tank.

I guess 4k/HDR pays off :D

But the show is bad and the finale ... mediocre at best ...

reply

I was only half paying attention and even I knew it was Timothy Olyphant’s character.

Choosing that as their after-credits scene to lead into their next show was rather lame. I like him, but not that much.

reply

I didn't know it was Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant) either, and that mod guy was forgettable also, so I had no idea who they were. Glad Cobb Vanth will return, Olyphant plays him well.

reply

Who would have thought a big shootout in a town could have been so boring. It was bad choreography, I dont care to ever see Boba Fett ever again sadly. And as someone else pointed out , the first two seasons of Mando feel a bit pointless now other than Baby Yoda knows some force abilities. Its like Ep 9 all over again where they back track thinking they know what we want just to make a worse mess. What an underwhelming show, lets move on from Tattooine now which doesn't bode well for the Obi Wan show.

reply

"Boba took a back seat a lot in this finale of his own show."

^That's all Disney Karen Wars does, ruin a George Lucas male character to prop up a female Disney character.

reply

"Wah, wah! They gave a character without a penis relevance while reducing a male's role but making his character more fleshed out."

What day does your incel group meet up?

reply

How about giving a character without a penis it's own show? How about you keep the character that's supposed to be the main character ... you know, the MAIN character?

reply

Shut up, Reylo.

reply

"Someone has an opinion that differs from my own, and I lack both the intellectual complexity and emotional maturity to actually HANDLE that. So QUICK, insult them to try and diminish/dismiss said divergent opinion!"

Ahhhh, you have to love the internet.

Also, The show is called "The Book of Boba Fett". Not "The Book of Boba's Fett's Lackeys".

Shand is fine as a support character for him. But the story was SUPPOSED to be about Boba. And her killing those dudes, did really kinda rob Boba of revenge for the top dude ordering the murder of "his" Tusken Clan. He got to kill Cad Bane, an unrelated hired gun from his past. Great.

The logical conclusion to that mess, would have been Boba taking that dude out as he was trying to flee the planet.

reply

You're correct in complaining that Boba became a supporting player in his own story, but aren't you blaming the wrong character for this? Wasn't it Mando, Luke and Baby Yoda that hogged up the screen time in the last three episodes? This whining about Fennic Shand "replacing" Boba Fett is just silly nonsense. Surely, she had the easier job of killing a few Pykes and an unarmed mayor (they barely even put up a fight) while Boba was busy fighting Spider Droids and Cad Bane?

reply

Exactly! "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

Their moral panic is obvious and led to them, as you pointed out, ignoring the several male characters that chewed up significant screen time to criticize the contribution of a female character. It's really pathetic and I don't understand how they don't realize how weak it makes them appear.

reply

Thank you for the stereotypical, predictable and tiresome popular rhetoric about "oooooo someone I disagree with must be FRAGILE, ooooo people with differing views BAD".

But no. My issue was that this was Boba's story. He should have gotten revenge for the Tusken tribe he got close to, not his lackey. It has nothing to do with her being a woman, though it's face-palm worthy that of course THAT is the first knee-jerk assumption you make (Oh it MUST be misogyny, because the internet tells me this!) It has everything to do with good storytelling, and Boba killing Bane, who had 0% to do with the genocide of that Tusken tribe, does not equal taking out the man who WAS responsible for their deaths.

But hey, signal harder.

reply

BAHAHAHAA!

reply

What Female Character? You guys making shit up now. It was a fucking puppet that saved the day. I don't know what show you were watching.

reply

Fennec dropped from the ceiling and killed the Syndicate you dumbass.

reply

Who cares, he was having a good time riding the Rancor and Killing Cad Bane. Besides Boba Didn't get popular because he was a deep character with only 6 minutes of Dialog in the whole original trilogy. It was because he had a cool outfit and nothing else.

reply

They'll deny it, but clearly they have a problem with a woman doing ANYTHING besides just sitting there. They're complaining the assassin....killed people? The complaint is that she's a woman. That's literally their issue with it.

reply

It dose feel that way, doesn't it. Like The new he-man is horrible because Teela got boobs and stuff. And she a lesbian because Haircuts? Even she doesn't do anything gay in the entire show. And Muscles means she now a man. Because no women ever worked out before in the history of the Universe.

reply

And?

reply

And Rian Johnson is never getting his trilogy, Reylo.

reply

Yawn.

reply

Wonderful contribution. Thank you. lol

reply

To me, Rodriguez directs in a way where he just seems to want to get the show shot and get his paycheck.

The script had fun stuff, but there was little magic in how the episode was executed.

reply

All directors end up like that.

reply

What are you complaining about? Boba and Mando were the ones who stopped the droids, but Grogu calmed down the rancor....so it's all ruined/his moment? Huh? Boba played a huge role in stopping the droids and had his moment killing Bane too. He was clearly the focus/hero.

Why can't Fennic kill the Pykes? I don't even comprehend this comment.

reply

Was that it for the series?

reply

I don't know if they plan another season.
