It wouldn't matter. Even when victims come out right away, people say they're only after money. People assume that once an accusation is made that it's automatically a witch hunt but they don't realize that an accusation has to be made for it to start the process of going to court. But we also don't know if he tried to threaten her. And there are some people who are affected by certain events that they don't want to relive the experiences and details in a courtroom until they're mentally ready.
