The Racist Joke was Cheap and Uncalled for

Waller-Bridge inserted a horrific racist joke in order to get the audience on Lashana's side. That was completely disgraceful and actually racist. Using such a horrific punchline (the extermination of an entire race of people) just to make a character seem evil was repugnant.

lmfao how u gonna complain about the joke and not repeat it? i am interested in this movie now, my curiosity has been has been peaked

reply

I don't remember the exact line, but the evil Russian scientist who works for Safin (and is a ripoff of Boris from GoldenEye) tells Nomi that he can exterminate her entire race, and then she kicks him into a pool of infected water that causes him to die in a gruesome but humorous manner.

reply

yeah he is an evil Russian scientist why would he be pc and woke? it makes sense for him to say some racist shit

reply

I find it interesting that you called Safin a "ripoff of Boris from Goldeneye" when the only thing the to characters have in common is their ethnicity while calling out a racist comment.

reply

I find it interesting that you can't read properly.

reply

I don't remember Boris calling out any racist comments in Goldeneye...

reply

Boris did not make any racist statements in "Goldeneye'. I said the only thing the two characters have in common was their ethnicity which I found interesting because TreeShaman in that same post was "calling out" that the Russian scientist said he could " exterminate her entire race".

So TreeShamin did not see that while he called out the Russian scientist for being racist yet he was also racist by claiming the Russian scientist was a " ripoff of Boris from GoldenEye" when all they have in common is they are both Russian

I'd say the Obruchev character is definitely inspired by Boris.

* Their first appearances involve their coworkers making fun of them, whereas Boris and Obruchev consider themselves superior to their coworkers.

* Their coworkers are killed with the connivance of both men, who are revealed to be working for the villain.

* They both act as the "brains" who are needed to put the villain's dastardly plan into operation.

* They pose no physical threat to Bond.

* They're clearly meant for comic relief.

* They show off their egos right before they die (Boris gloating how he's invincible, Obruchev gloating that he knows enough to be able to genocide specific races.)

I gotta say though, Boris is much more endearing. Obruchev just comes across as whiny and the writers seem too focused on giving viewers reasons to hate him.

The word is “piqued,” but you won’t remember that I told you.

reply

yes.... (shaking head, rolling eyes) movies, from now on, should never have anything "" BAD "" in them.

unicorns and rainbows for everyone. no more horror, no more sex, no more porn, no shooting guns or showing bad guys, no more pg-13 and above movies please.
and for God's sake burn all those filthy Dr Seuss books, and Rock and Roll MP3s

the next Bond: " James bond and the teletubby/care bares adventure " Rated G

is there really nothing better than this to whine about online? don't we still have starvation in africa or sex trafficing to take care of?

reply

the next Bond: " James bond and the teletubby/care bares adventure " Rated G

I kind of want to see that now.

reply

There are TWO G's in the n-word, so it can't be rated G, that's racist.

reply

Is it really disgraceful though? So Valdo Obruchev was a racist, what's your point? He pissed her off and she killed him, end of story. Or is this make whites racists insertion remark? Racism is evil in itself so it served its purpose in the movie and script line.

reply

She killed him bc he was too dangerous (to humanity) to be kept alive.

reply

So Valdo Obruchev was a racist, what's your point? He pissed her off and she killed him, end of story [...] Racism is evil in itself

The funny thing here is that I don't need to check the cast to know Valdo Obruchev is white dude.

Nowadays you read a movie plot, you guess genders and races, and probably you'll make the right guess. According to modern woke Hollywood, people are completely defined by their race and genitalia. That's why the same archetypes are always assigned to the same gender/races. That's why I don't need to check the cast to know Valdo Obruchev is a white dude.

And you support it in the same paragraph you say that "racism is evil in itself", and you don't even get the irony.

reply

very disrespectful now! characters in movies are no longer allowed to be written disliking anything or that is hate speech and must be banned banned BANNED! And erased. Cancelled. removed.

wait! these words I am using right here probably offend someone out there.... they need erased cancelled removed banned!!!
(I cant wait for the next generation to rebel against their fuctard parents and get back to a real world again)

Lashana is reason enough for me to skip watching the last Daniel Craig Bond film. Not that I was ever a fan of his, except I did like the first film. But one of the reasons people like Bond films is beautiful women. Not women who look like men. If that is the direction the franchise is going, it makes sense Craig wants to get out.

reply

Not surprised at all that happened. Sadly I don’t think many people will pickup on it.

reply

What about it was a joke? it was a genocide threat. I don't know why she was keeping that guy alive in the first place but if there was a reason then she probably fucked up by getting triggered by his genocide threat and killing him

reply

It's a joke because the audience is supposed to be in on it. Like will find humor in a white guy saying that to a black chick. "ooooh shit you just said that to a black person. You gonna get your ass whooped now." That kind of joke if that makes sense.
