Why not follow the James Bond template?

This series gets completely rebooted every decade for no reason. Why do we need a new origin story with Bruce Wayne's parents dying and everything else that happens only once every time the series is rebooted? It would make more sense to just create standalone films where Batman fights a particular villain, and the actors/actresses can be replaced without any issue. Standalone films also don't need to follow the continuity of other 'timelines' or reboots that have happened in the past.

Yes, it worked well with Batman Forever in the 1990s with a change in actors without rebooting the storyline, so they should be able to do the same thing in the 2020s.

I agree.

No need for an origin dcene, just present the current Batman and assume the audience knows who he is and why he's dressed that way.

Yeah i think they are going to this route,with Batman and also Marvel will go to this route with their characters. Expecially with the multiverses (an element present both in DC and Marvel) they can easily do this without too many explanation.
"I know Iron Man died in Avengers: Endgame,but this Iron Man comes from another universe: enjoy Iron Man 4!"

I've got to say it was pretty refreshing to see a Batman film not involving pearls flying all over the place nor a young Bruce falling into a cave.

Batman battles multiple underlings, seduces female underlings, goes to picturesque locales around the world, uses trick gadgets and finally with the help of a female friend he makes along the way defeats a would be world conquerer. Also bad puns.
The names man, Batman.

You joke, but I liked that bit in The Dark Knight where he goes to Hong Kong to forcibly extradite Lau from his highrise fortress via a high-tech kidnapping.

It was closer to James Bond or Mission Impossible than a standard Batman movie. Or maybe in the world of Watchmen.

Did you enjoy Captain America Civil War? I did however I was very confused about the SpiderMan character because there was no origin story told. We just saw a kid with these powers. I want to see a backstory with characters. So I disagree with your post. Every Batman movie needs his proper back story

I have never heard anyone else be confused about Spiderman being there. I have heard (and agree) many fans state that they were very HAPPY to not have screen time wasted telling a backstory they have seen multiple times before.

I agree. Every movie should be able to stand on its own, without assuming the audience has prior knowledge.

Exactly! Its like we had to see those two scenes every time...until The Batman?

Time to turn the character into a series...just like Bond...and just like they change Bond, M, Q, and Moneypenny on ten year cycles...do it with Batman, Alfred, and Gordon.

And no Robin. Bond didn't have a sidekick other than Felix Leiter...and he kept being recast ,too.

And everytime they changed actors, we'd hear the endless whining from legions of keyboard trolls complaining that the new actor 'isn't fit to play Batman'

But you don't really need any. Each orgin film normally changes stuff anyways so what you previously knew doesn't matter.

All you really need to know with the batman is there's a person who goes around on a night taking law into their own hands

Perhaps that is a you problem if you still do not know the story of spiderman despite there being multiple franchise reboots.
