Black female character calling out white privilege

Shocking. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

reply

What did she say?

reply

Character warns Millie Bobby Brownโ€™s character to not trust the white royal family in the trailer.

reply

Sigh, so tiresome.

reply

She doesn't refer to them as white though. This dude is reaching.

reply

Reaching? No. It's called being a lying, race baiting troll trying to stoke some anti-"woke" therapy session. Not a damn thing was said about white privilege in the trailer.

reply

Apparently black people having opinions about literally any other person for literally any other reason even if totally divorced from the topic of race is just too damn woke for them. ๐Ÿ™„

reply

The movie's executive producer is Meghan Markle.

reply

Then she should know. ๐Ÿ˜„

reply

LOL, is Harry the assistant producer?

reply

She doesnโ€™t let him make decisions. ๐Ÿ˜Š

reply

And wasn't she correct? I mean seriously. They literally told her it was a business deal and they didn't need more "family". Then....

reply

My god you're right .
You've really uncovered something here!
This is clearly a worldwide conspiracy to exterminate all white people
You'd better break out the MREs and run to the hills.
I'll send word when its all over.

reply

I watched the movie last night. This never happens

reply

Itโ€™s in the trailer. They cut it out of the movie?

And howโ€™s the movie? Any good?

reply

I enjoyed it. From what I saw in the movie, its the Bassett character telling Millie Bobby Brown to beware of these people because they're hiding something nefarious. If white privilege was ever mentioned, you would never know it by watching the film.

reply

It was implied. Royal families are drenched in white privilige.

reply

All royal families?

reply

True, considering there are royals all over the world, every royal house has corruption to some extent.

reply

Exactly. Weird to think that royals are white. There are more corrupt royals in non western countries.

reply

I would not say that, I think it is 50/50 on every continent that has royals. Human beings will continue to be human, good or bad.

reply

It's amazing that you come here discussing people's skin color. Nothing constructive or negative about the actual movie, but to complain about something that wasn't even in the movie. Sounds like you got your head hit too hard on 1/6.

reply

Thanks, grandma.

reply

Your an idiot! Not shocking!

reply

Typical. When people like you canโ€™t support their opposing views, they just waste everyoneโ€™s time with cheap insults instead.

reply

Did you even watch the movie? The stepmother was all in for the wedding until the father started acting shady and weird after meeting with the royals, and the queen didn't even know the brides name and was clearly turning her nose up at the family. Only then did she warn her daughter that these people were up to some shit!

Or did you just see a black woman in the trailer and rush on over to moviechat to make a post about white privelege?

So yes, I stand by my idiot comment!

reply

I just watched the movie. This never happens. Angela Bassett simply warns her step daughter that the royal family is up to something sinister. There's no mention or implication of a racial agenda.

reply

The fact that they had a black character say that is suspect. They knew what they were doing.

reply

How are you not embarrassed by this whole thread? If I were you I would want to wipe it out of existence after having my ass handed to me so many times.

reply

Angela Bassett is the step-mother of a white girl?

reply

Yes? So what?

reply

How did Angela Bassett's family take her marriage to a white boy?

There is usually a significant conflict, the black women usually feel like they are betraying their community and family by marrying a white.

reply

First off, he's not a 'white boy' he's a grown man and a King. Is her race or her family's reaction to her marrying someone with white skin important to this film? In a fantasy world that has dragons? WTF?

reply

In this movie, race is not an issue and racism does not exist?

reply

How does the audience know if it does or doesn't?

reply

I don't know, I am asking you.
I haven't seen the movie.

reply

Well that tracks ๐Ÿ™„

reply

Its a pretty safe bet it doesent exist to the extent it does on this website - where every single appearance of a non white is questioned.

reply

Yes, that is probable.
Still doesn't really address the question.

reply

this is the saddest response ever to a movie like this. i mean you are injecting race into this, and it is a Classism issue common with Feudal societies or the past and current, and has nothing to do with the color of skin.

furthermore, history has routinely shown that the "white privilege" comments are completely lame when referring to history of slavery if that was your intent (which again this movie has ZERO to do with anyways) because it was "black" Africans that sold their own people to slave traders in the first place so that they could be brought and sold to people in different countries. It is not like "privileged white people" showed up in ships on the African continent and knew the best places to "buy" people at, like there was some published market somewhere.

bar none this is a very uneducated review

โ€œbar none this is a very uneducated reviewโ€

Hey, you tried. Donโ€™t knock yourself.

Granted, your babbling had nothing to do with my post (Iโ€™m referring to movies today, not black history) but you tried.

reply

NOPE...DID NOT HAPPEN.

reply

The black female character in this film is more of a symbol of poverty than diversity. It has nothing to do with the evil queen being white โ€“ when you hear the queen say "you need money and we need a bride", normal people have reason to wonder why, except for those with Tiktok brains who think trolling will make them outstanding in some way.
