The worst of the Brosnan films

Not so much because of Christmas Jones, who is no worse than previous Bond girls: Goodnight in Man with the Golden Gun, Gloria Hendry in Live and Let die or Stacey Sutton in View to a Kill...It's the weak villains and the uneven story imho. Die Another day is only slightly better.

If I had to rank the Brosnan films best to worse:

1. Tomorrow Never Dies (9)
2. Goldeneye (8)
3. Die Another day (6.5)
4. The World is not Enough (6)

reply

I'd say GoldenEye was best and the other three are tied for last place

You could say that, and you’d be wrong. Anders is right.

It's all opinion.

I agree with you. “Goldeneye” was his best & the only truly good Bond film of Bronsan’s 007.

2nd best “Tomorrow Never Dies”

Then the rest, with each becoming sillier & sillier than the one that came before. “Die Another Day” being the worst.

No, you are right.

I'd rate DAD lower than this one, but that's not saying much.

I do think this one has Brosnan's best performance as Bond. It's a shame because this one starts off good and falls apart at the end.

1. Goldeneye: 9/10
2. TND: 7.5/10
3. TWINE: 6/10
4. DAD: 4/10

Brosnan was a good Bond but the scripts started nose diving in this one. There are things to appreciate and it does not quite stoop to the silliness of many of the Moore flicks but it gets close (helicopter saw, etc)

To me there is no question that DAD is far worse. DAD lands in the bottom three Bond films alongside Diamonds are Forever and Octopussy.

6/10 is way too high. This is a 0.5/10 at best. Easily the worst Bond film ever made. Even Skyfall (The Dark Knight ripoff) was better than this.

reply

1. Goldeneye
2. Die Another Day
3. The World is Not Enough
4. Tomorrow Never Dies

reply

Agreed, I much prefer "Goldeneye" or the goofy "Die Another Day".

This one is really pretty dull, and thats the one thing a Bond film shouldn't be.

reply

Brosnan's movies got worse each time out. Die Another Day was a more fun movie to watch, but it went overboard with everything.

It's time to compare Pierce Brosnan's lesser James Bond flicks. Which is the best of the worst?
