The worst of the Brosnan films

Not so much because of Christmas Jones, who is no worse than previous Bond girls: Goodnight in Man with the Golden Gun, Gloria Hendry in Live and Let die or Stacey Sutton in View to a Kill...It's the weak villains and the uneven story imho. Die Another day is only slightly better.

If I had to rank the Brosnan films best to worse:

1. Tomorrow Never Dies (9)
2. Goldeneye (8)
3. Die Another day (6.5)
4. The World is not Enough (6)

Whichever the one is with the invisible car is the worst Bond film I have ever seen.

I’d rank this 2nd after Goldeneye. I like it’s story, the villains motive, the double-cross by Electra King.
I like the return of the ex-KGB agent from Goldeneye. And last but not least I like Bonds line, “I never miss” after he gets done killing King.

I’ve always dug this one though. I like Elektra's relationship with Bond. I remember seeing it for the first time and being surprised at the *spoilers* surprise when you find out she went all Patty Hearst and teamed up with the villain. Then Bond kills her with that, “I never miss,” line. And then M walks in all like, “Damn”. Too cool.

Christmas I can deal with because it’s Denise Richards, and while it’s not the greatest performance, it fits the bill. I’m not too worried about the quality of the acting performance of Bond girls, if you know what I mean.

I like that Russian KGB guy from GoldenEye who shows up and helps Bond, and how he saves Bond’s life before he dies.

The ski chase, boat chase, submarine. It’s all pretty cool!

I know it has its low moments, but I guess you can say it’s a guilty pleasure for me. I think it has some cool stuff.

That all being said, I think it’s ahead of Die Another Day and IMO Tomorrow Never Dies.

I thought Sophie Marceau was really good, one of the best parts. I would rank this second behind GoldenEye, but at quite a distance. After that, Tomorrow Never Dies, which suffers from a lack of script and a bland villain (how was Pryce better?). I'm not even going to discuss Die Another Day.

There is only ONE good Brosnan Bond, and that's "Goldeneye." The rest suck. I actually went to see "Tomorrow Never Dies" a second time to see if it was really as vacuous as I thought it was. And...it was. I stopped going to Bond movies in the theater until "Skyfall," which I thought was almost as bad.
