Absolutely terrible film. Cant believe people worship this crap!

I just got back from the theater and I can't believe people are really enjoying this movie. I thought it was awful! I've never read the book, but I'm sure it's better. The directing was flat and boring, the writing was incredibly cliche. Every joke fell flat. The action scenes were so full of shaky cam, I couldn't see what was going on! You'd think this movie was shot during an earthquake. Chris Rock's performance was the worst the of the year so far; I was excited to see him do some drama, but he just mugged the whole time. His pants defecation scene was also so poorly done. Not sure what the writer was thinking there. Shaq's surprise cameo garnered a laugh or two, but his acting is terrible. Horrible greenscreen usage two during the robot fight scene.

I did like the musical score, and Ariana Grande's acting during the "ranch dresssing on my titties!" mental breakdown was well done. That end credits song with Billie Eilish and Seth Putnam was a little catchy. 2/10

You're crazy, Chris Rock carried this movie.

reply

Same boat. One of the worst best ever movies I've ever seen.

But what I get is that it was probably amazing back at the time of its release. As viewers, we've evolved a lot since then, and have much larger expectations of movies.

But yeah. I was bored, annoyed, and not entertained watching god father. And I'm over 40.
Everyone is different though.

Did you read the OP’s whole post ?

reply

I imagine just the title of the post.

reply

crap no! Just the first 4 sentances and stopped. hahahahah my bad
Come on! I made it 4 sentances in!! but, he got me

anyway. I didn't care for GF and will never watch again.
(NO, I don't like Transformers, more of a Nolan watcher myself. Tenet, inception etc)

reply

Lol imagine slating The Godfather while enjoying exposition laden crap like Tenet and Inception. Nolan has no sense of pacing or character development.

yeah:
boom! pew pew! kabooom! wooo!

... and now cinema is a torrent of sewage shat out by MCU & DC :(

Thoughtful , slow , intelligent drama with a proper story is too much for the tik tok generation
"Devolved" might be a better word.

...although "The Godfather" is a bad example - I agree its boring AF

reply

To each his own. I actually enjoyed Chris Tucker in a serious role. And full frontal Billy Eilish was impressive. Are you gay?

reply

Didn't you at least enjoy the cameo by Cher as Chris Rock's father?

reply

Are guys even talking about the godfather movie!? 🤨

reply

It's called satire.

reply

So it's a godfather parody?

reply

It's just a joke post.

reply

Oh, I see! Thanks for the clarification.

The biggest shock to me is that after this came out Barney Miller hired Fish to be a detective.

reply

My wife and I were watching Godfather II, and when they showed young Vito, Clemenza, and Tessio, I said to my wife that the actor they got even looked like young Fish!

reply

I guess Michael did give him a pass….for old times sake….and didn’t have him whacked.

reply

Stick to Transformers movies, they seem more your speed.

"cliché" is a noun not an adjective. Same goes for "cringe" - a noun or a verb, not an adjective. The misuse of these words is irritating to me.

reply

get with the times grandpa, you are cringe as fuck

reply

You're stupid as fuck. Youth is no excuse. Anyway, I'll take "cringe" over stupid any day.

reply

languages evolve over time and you'd think an old fart like yourself would know that better than us cringe gen z'ers. sorry i offended you old timer.

reply

I might have to send my spaghetti gorillas for both of you if you don't start behaving like reasonable men.
