shareYes, we did. Thank God! We were prepared to lose power, but it stayed on. If it had hit Tampa as it was forecasted to do we would have been in a heap of trouble. My friend with whom I’m staying has a pool. I had to trudge out to turn on the drain valve. If it overflows it goes into the house.
She has 5 acres so I parked my truck way back out in the open away from any trees. For a brief moment I thought about parking it directly in back of the house and pool as the house faces west toward Tampa which would help shield the truck. Good thing I didn’t. It would have been under a tree. That tree split! My truck would have been covered!
Been watching some of the coverage and often find it hard to comprehend that kind of damage and loss, especially in comparison to the idyllic days I've been experiencing here in the middle of the country. I'm glad you survived well, but like I said, I felt confident you would. You're a tough, feisty old gal. :)

This perfectly illustrates how similar British and Australian humour is, as opposed to American - I got the joke immediately and fully realised that no offense was intended.

There are several posters that have returned one way or another and yet they don't fall into the definition of what constitutes a sock.
It's common knowledge that malice is often thinly disguised as humor and that's clearly what happened here. Two historical figures couldn't be more diametrically opposed than Jesus and Hitler and yet he wanted to present them as side by side and let the readers decide which is more deserving of hatred.

This states both are deserving of hate posts…BUT…one of the two deserves those hate posts more than the other one. Posters can decide which one deserves those hate posts more. It IS equating two people.
Two people commit a crime. Both are armed, but only one murders the victim. The two are judged equally as stated in the law. If one is part of the same crime they are both guilty. The law is equating the two. One is actually the murderer, but the other one is adjudicated as being the same.
There is no justification in stating who is more deserving of HATE POSTS, Jesus or Hitler. Dammit! What’s wrong with you people? Its already losing it/lost it. The USA is a "Christian" nation already under judgment from God.
I´m watching a little now, I do find some of his take interesting but its obvious he is secular since he has an unBiblical view of "the Cross" that he claims is a symbol of the "powerless triumphing over the powerful, slave triumphing over the master, the victim triumphing over the torturer."
He also compares Jesus´ death to the death of George Floyd. He says the heart of the Christian/Catholic (they should be distinguished from each other as well) identity is the innocent person being tortured to death. This is completely false and unBiblical.
Jesus died to atone for the sins of his elect, he chose to be redeemed before the foundation of the world.
Jesus was sinless and perfect. George Floyd was a life-long criminal who died, high on drugs while being detained with excessive force by police. The comparison is abhorrent.
He seems like an intelligent man and he definitely makes some good points about Christianity being ingrained in our culture but he definitely has some misguided views on what Christianity actually means.
Tom Holland is not a practising Christian but he knows and understands the importance of history. You of course have Faith but take what you will out of the video.
The west already lost Christianity. The fight for the "soul" of the west particularly in Europe will be between Islam and woke/gender ideology.
