Actress You Feel Sorry For

Liza Minelli - the actress (I don't know her as a person)

Whether she's Pookie or Junie, I always feel sorry for her. I guess its her face.

reply

She don't feel sorry for you.

reply

I feel sorry for you

reply

No ,you don't.

Anissa Jones - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anissa_Jones

reply

I didn't know about her. What a waste. Tragic.

The Wiki article doesn't go into it, but she was also quite negatively affected by https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NotAllowedToGrowUp

Sad

reply

That's horrible ...

Shortly before noon on August 28, 1976, after partying in the beach town of Oceanside, California, with her new boyfriend, Allan "Anissa Modrukas" Koven, and others, Jones was found dead in a bedroom of a house belonging to the father of a 14-year-old friend named Helen Hennessy.[4]:28 The coroner's report listed her death as a drug overdose, later ruled accidental;[6] cocaine, PCP, Quaalude, and Seconal were found in her body during an autopsy toxicology examination. The police report also indicated a small vial of blue liquid next to Jones at the scene, which was never identified. The coroner who examined Jones reported she died from one of the most severe drug overdoses he had ever seen. Jones was 18 years old.[4]:28

Sounds like murder to me.

reply

Dominique Dunne, got killed by her psycho boyfriend.

reply

I remember that. So sad.

reply

I was a big fan of Dominick Dunne (his Vanity Fair articles, I think I only read one of his books).

It is so heartbreaking--her killer essentially got away with it, only serving a couple years in jail. I recommend Dominick Dunne: After The Party (2008) an absorbing documentary (with his participation) about his life and Hollywood (and of course his daughter).

reply

I never knew she was his daughter. I always assumed it was just a coincidental similar-sounding name.

Shame on me, because I always liked her. I should have known this fact.

reply

Moonlight Mile (2002) is inspired by her.

Rebecca Schaeffer

reply

That was another sad one. She was just beginning to get recognition.

reply

Indeed it was.
Shot to death by a paranoid schizophrenic fan in front of her apartment building when she was just 21.
Apparently, Rebecca had just signed an autograph for that fan a few minutes earlier, but he returned and shot her because he claimed that Rebecca did not spend enough time with him when she signed the autograph.

No, that's not what happened.

reply

Stratego, my above post was based on what I had read on Rebecca's IMDb biography ...

After reading your post, I checked Wikipedia, which definitely gives a completely different account of Rebecca's murder ...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebecca_Schaeffer

Regardless of which one is the more factual (and I am more than willing to believe Wikipedia over IMDb), it is still a shame that she was murdered.

I also find it interesting that Marcia Cross, who later rose to fame during the O.J. Simpson trial, handled the prosecution of Rebecca's killer.

reply

I find her murder so tragic and sad. Seems like she was a little naive when it came to fans.

Yep, I saw Cross on a tv show that covered Rebecca's case. It told the same story as Wikipedia, by the way.

Teri Garr

Margot Kidder

reply

Beat me by a minute bro

Her story is terribly sad, I wonder if anyone reached out to her after her nervous breakdown..?

Tragic story for sure

reply

At her peak, she was so beautiful

reply

Absolutely

It's a damn shame she never got any help for what was going on in her life
Maybe it's hard to ask for help

reply

Margot Kidder (THE Lois Lane)

Her death was ruled a suicide by dope and booze...

Heartbreaking.

reply

Liza too. She has the same tragic soul and vulnerabilities as her Mom.
Sandra Bullock after the whole Jesse James divorce
Linda Hamilton - sad eyes. Also has a sad, messy divorce story
Bridget Moynahan after Tom Brady left her pregnant and alone for Gisele the supermodel
Minnie Driver after Matt Damon dumped her on national tv.
Marilyn Monroe - icon of tragedy, the whole Candle in The Wind tale

Not an actress, but Karen Carpenter.

reply

Linda Hamilton is also bipolar and she’s aged pretty badly. I’m sure that’s been a pretty big detriment on having an acting career.

reply

I didn't know Damon broke up with Minnie Driver on TV. I expect she would want to forget that.
