If someone starts off their apology with "If you feel or think that I did anything wrong......""

Then that means they're not sorry, correct? A non-genuine apology?

reply

It's a lot like the currently popular stupid expression of, "I apologize in advance..."

reply

"I don't mean to be rude but....."

"I'm not a racist but....."

reply

"With all due respect but..."

Yup, they all signal insincerity at the onset.

reply

"Bless your heart"

reply

Do you despise people like that and tell them to 'piss off' when you meet them?

reply

"I don't mean to sound like an internet tough guy but..."

I don't really despise Joes, I just dislike him. There's only been one other poster here that I told that I despised him and that was Deliciousfeet. It got to him so much, he actually created a short-lived thread, whining about it. Now there are two, counting you.

reply

A simple question you completely avoided...what would Jeremiah Johnson think?

reply

Because it was just another one of your distorted spins onto a comment of mine. That was a tactic Dfeet used against me constantly, along with false accusations. So how does it feel to know that you're a lot like that guy?

reply

I just asked you a question is all...why are you so upset?

For a guy that's claimed he 'lived a life of courage' and grew up 'scrappy' you sure do sound like a weenie😁

reply

And I answered it. I just asked you a question that you're dodging, hypocrite. I only responded to your childish baiting out of boredom to begin with. You could at least have contributed something worthwhile to this thread instead of hijacking it with your jealous resentment.

reply

Wow, you're starting to get emotional db...this seems to be a habit of yours

Have a sit on your porch and spy on the neighbors, that seems to calm you down partner👍

reply

This was what I meant last night about the futility of trying to talk sense with you. You're such an infantile bore with your regurgitated garbage. Piss off, once again.

reply

I guess I caught you in a bad mood again...that seems your usual speed Mr. Chuckles

As for 'pissing off' I will remain right here, you'll never not have my company old boy:)

reply

Meh. We all know dogs like to eat their own vomit, chase cars and howl at the moon.

reply

You should get a trainer for those dogs of yours, they sound like a nuisance!

reply

"I don't mean to be rude..." could indicate that you want to help or understand in an unusual situation, but genuinely don't know how your inquiry will be accepted. I know it sounds passive-aggressive, but it might just indicate caution.

reply

"Bless your heart"

reply

"Thank you in advance" is pretty harmless but still seems silly to me.

reply

Being unintentionally rude is more forgivable. Saying "I don't mean to be rude..." means intentional effrontery is coming right up.

reply

"I don't care what anyone thinks...". Yes, you desperately do otherwise you wouldn't have said anything.

reply

No offence but ...

reply

The person giving the so called apology only cares about virtue signaling.

reply

To me that sounds like they're open to see if they really did something wrong that maybe they hadn't noticed.

reply

It's like "I'm sorry if that's how you feel", it's not really sorry.

reply

They may be sorry that you feel that way but they are not sorry for anything they have said or done.

reply

I don’t mean to be bitchy but........

reply

none of the first page of similar examples are as bad as "If you feel or think that I did anything wrong......"

That is the phrase used mainly by politicians but also other famous people who've screwed up in a major way and are basically refusing to accept responsibility or say sorry.

reply

"If you feel or think that I did anything wrong......" is fine if it's followed by "that's your f*cking problem."
