shareIt seems unbelievable now that smoking was ever allowed in theatres. Were there ashtrays next to every seat? You might not know, seeing as you sat on the non-smoking side 😃
shareThe ashtrays were probably built into the arm rest. It's hard to imagine some places that allowed smoking back in the day. We have definitely moved forward.

The film was shown in a huge neighborhood theater that even had a balcony.
Years later, my Junior High School graduation was held there.
Several years after that, it was divided into a four screen multiplex.
I probably went to some kid movies as a young child but Poseidon Adventure is the first one I remember. My aunt and uncle took me to the drive-in thinking I would fall asleep in the car so my parents could take care of my sick sister at home. I watched the whole movie.
