It's not about parental rights since the law opposes the wishes of many parents who are against it.
Keelai, I don't think that's correct. A teacher can say the word "gay" they just can't "teach" it in a classroom situation.
I suppose I'm okay with it, your sexual orientation is really not that important. There's no valid reason why schools should be teaching gender and sexual choices in school.

I think we spent 2 days on sex ed when I was in school and that was about it. Although, I would argue that it should have been a longer course than this, there were things we didn't learn about but then again, do we need to learn about anal sex, BDSM, crossdressing etc...etc.. in school?
If we open the door for anal then everything else should be taught too. I know this is some kind of virtue signal thing for a lot of people but there is no reason to dive this deep into sexual practices in school.

What did you learn in sex ed? It couldn't be much.
I think it's reasonable to propose that schools should be able to tell kids that there's nothing wrong with being gay, should they be gay. It doesn't have to be attached to sexual education, but it is of note that sex ed does correlate with lowered teenage pregnancies.

I don't think a teacher can get fired for saying "there's nothing wrong with being gay" they just can't make it part of the curriculum. They cant sit down and teach the ins and outs of anal sex.
