It's pointless to say this is not a "sequel" since Maximus is clearly dead ...It will be more like a spin off which will capitalize on Gladiator's success and fame and will probably suck ass ...
My prediction a black male lead with a white wife/girlfriend,Evil white villains the ancestors of Western Civilization White privilege and the Patriarchy,more butch Women in Gladiator fights...it will be like a woke parody like that Pepsi ad with Beyonce Britney and Pink

Complaining about movies being woke seems to be a sport on this site now, which is too bad.

But I would agree that the solution for inclusivity is not sticking minorities into white male stories. The right way to do it is to tell new stories that consistent with the history or the lore.

While I would agree black people in Asgard makes no sense (unless they were visitors), it is also true that no one complains when a Tarzan movie comes out. Double standard.

Well I won't watch this unless Leslie Jones is the lead and is the toughest gladiator in the world. Otherwise, it won't be realistic and historically accurate.

They'll have to come up with a convincing historically plausible reason why Denzel Washington, or any other POC is in this in anything other than a slave, servant, or barbaric enemy role. If he/they are just there to check a DEI box, then it's just woke BS.*
