If Fallen Kingdom came out in 1993 it would be considered just as good as the original, you simply cannot deny this.
Unfortunately we live in the whiny hipster millennial age where every movie gets trashed and people can’t distinguish a gem from a puddle of mud.
no way would the characters and story be considered "as good as the original" in 1993. even the lost world was considered a lackluster sequel by many critics in 1997.
i thought fallen kingdom was a highly enjoyable movie, but i wouldn't call it a gem.
No the story and characters aren’t as good, but the action is better and the dinosaurs are cooler and more badass. Also Bryce Dallas Howard is better looking than Laura Dern and the movie does a better job at pulling at the heart strings.
It’s really a question of what movie are you more in the mood for: the original which is part horror and focuses more on characters and realism or Fallen Kingdom which is part fantasy, is more entertaining, and the Dinosaurs aren’t just viewed as cold blooded killers.....you could have a cold beer with some of them and they had a sense of morality.

shareI suppose that's why I prefer the original. I enjoy well written characters and the fact that the film feels like something that could happen in our own world. I didn't find Fallen Kingdom particularly entertaining because it didn't feel like a Jurassic Park film. It wasn't a terrible film, but it wasn't a good film, either. It hit the middle of the road with me.
On that note, many of the dinosaurs in the original aren't cold blooded killers, either. They're animals - some are predators and some are prey. Some are very intelligent, and some don't seem to be. There are a lot of shots of dinosaurs that are simply majestic, even when they're preying on each other there's a sense of awe evoked in the audience! Granted, some of that was because it was amazing special effects (I would argue better effects than the newer movies because they couldn't just rely on color grading to make the CG blend - the dinosaurs in the first two films had to look like they exist in the real world as opposed to making the real world look CGI), but it really holds up.
Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom were both good action films, but there wasn't much other than action.
YES!!! B.D.H. is much hotter than that Tweety bird, Laura Dern! Laura Dern cannot even be in the same limelight w/B.D.H. in both acting and looks...... She's got perfect "meat around the bone" too! And she's a redhead...... As they say: red on the head, fire in the bed!🤩🔥

I thought this was better the last movie. Although the premise is far fetched.
I didn't mind it actually. I know it's silly and dumb but if I had to choose between FK and JW, I'd go with FK.

Yeah i was incredibly bored watching Jurassic World. I went into FK with floor level expectations and I thought it was ok. I wasn’t as bored except when the child actor was child acting. Doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as JP ‘93 but it was slightly better than JW in my opinion.

shareI enjoyed it, but I'm sorry no, this is not just as good as the original. JW:FK is just dumb fun monster schlock, and I appreciate that. JP was a great film with a great script, and it took itself seriously. They are nearly polar opposites.
