Even the folklore of the bears... I've always known it as the two wolves. who knows, but it was ok for a hot afternoon not wanting to do anything else.

That's what I'm saying. I would've been really interested to see more of these characters.

The Last Stand and Dark Phoenix are based on two different story arcs. I’m a comic readers. Dark Phoenix was based on the Hellfire Club arc while X3 was based on the Gifted storyline with elements of the Dark Phoenix arc.

You mind as well say that Deadpool is a remake of X-Men Origins: Wolverine since they both cover Wade’s origin story.

I haven't see Dark Phoenix, but even the trailers didn't really make the movie look good to me and based on everything I've heard about it, it sounds like nobody likes that movie. I feel like The New Mutants will at least achieve cult status.

It's a real shame it was pushed back as to not conflict with the Dark Phoenix release.

That movie was a different genre. So you can’t compare them. No offense, but do you judge movies by merits/faults or your personal preferences?

Oh noo, that was my fear mid way. It was coming across as a horror, jump scare movie. And the interaction between them gave it a "Who's gonna die first" feel. glad it turned out a bit better than I was fearing.

Now, give me a movie based on Anya Taylor-Joy's character.. ;) yeah that's just the bloke in me wishfully thinking.

That's what I'm saying. It's not nearly as bad as the worst the franchise has to offer. It's not the best by any means, but there's still enjoyment to be had.

Why are you comparing this to other movies of different genres?

"Last ten or so X-Men movies?" Let's see: X-Men 1, X2 X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine; X-Men First Class; The Wolverine; X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Deadpool; X-Men: Apocalypse; Logan; Deadpool 2; X-Men: Dark Phoenix; The New Mutants.
You are, of course, entitled to your opinion, but I don't share it.
IMHO, X-Men 1, X2, X-Men First Class, The Wolverine, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse, Logan and Deadpool 2 were all good, and in some cases, great films. X-Men: The Last Stand, while not a stellar film, had its moments. X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a mess because the film makers tried to please everyone and failed. X-Men: Dark Phoenix could have been a lot better. Killing off Mystique was wrong. Now the continuity changed.
I have not seen The New Mutants yet, so I cannot comment on that one.
I do not expect everyone to agree with me, as personal preference varies greatly from one person to another, but this is the way I feel about the X-Men films, my personal favorites being X2 and Days Of Future Past.

I take every PG-13 "horror" movie with a grain of salt. Besides, horror is subjective.
