Ever used a drone? A lot of drones have a separate remote but require your phone to make the connection between the drone and the controller. No way to control my drone with just the controller. I have to have my phone plugged into it.
I liked prometheus, if it was just a stand alone Sci fi movie I think it would have gotten better reviews. I don't like it as a tie in to the alien universe but as a stand alone Sci fi movie I thought it was great.
My daughter and her friend went to see it on Sunday. They are 12, they loved it. They said it stuck pretty close to the original. They added some extra scenes but pretty much the core movie is the same as the original from what they said. I'll wait to watch it when it streams.

That's the whole point of the movie and book. Just because a species is "just bugs" as you put it doesn't make them lesser. They were a sentient species, the queens had a range of thoughts and emotions that surpassed that of humans. They attacked us first because they thought we were "just bugs" as well. When they realized we were sentient they left us alone. They were running out of resources and desperately needed water to survive.
The novella 100 percent. This version was good to see on screen but it just doesn't create the atmosphere and horror that the novella had. Plus the molestation scene was odd, in the novella it was consensual and you understood how that could happen with all of the stress they were under.
Wow, if she was captain marvel instead of Brie Larson that would have been a game changer.....damn, I would have loved to see that.
Just want to say you absolutely slaughtered that other persons comment. Was very enjoyable to read and made me remember many movies that subtly promote Christianity. Great response.
Uh, the first killed was the pedophile. Thats what started everything. There is earlier video of Rosenberg threatening the group that Kyle was with. He was gunning for them. He actually said in the earlier video "shoot me nigga". He got what he wanted.
