Would have preferred more Captain Marvel in the fight.

Without things getting cheesey I would have preferred more Captain Marvel to be honest.

It really does make the character seem shoehorned in when you consider the usage vs buildup for CM.

They could have had her destroy the ship, then had Thanos get the gauntlet and give her some one-liner about him being the victor - only for her to taunt his ego and say he could take the easy way out and span her away - or he could fight her and prove he is worthy while she buys Cap/Tony time to regroup and get the stones off him, and still have it end the same way.

Maybe that would have been cheesey anyway.

It is a bit odd since she's apparently going to play a large role in Avengers from here on out but had few interactions with her future teammates.

reply

Yeah, and to further back up my point - Thanos would have only just acquired the gauntlet and never used the stones (except for in the fight) so he could have been tempted to try out the power stone etc before performing a snap.

reply

I'm not sure I understand your complaint. She single-handedly brought down the space ship that was wrecking all of the other Avengers, and she went toe to toe with Thanos, and looked like she would have won if not for the power stone...

They made her ungodly powerful, and we needed less of her for any of the other heroes to have any standout moments.

If they had given her any more screen time they would have pulled a Superman in Justice League moment with her.

reply

Superman single handedly beating Steppenwolf is the best part of Justice League.

reply

Yeah the fight was only for like 30 seconds ... isn't she meant to be Marvel's 'superman'?

reply

I would have preferred her not be in this movie at all. And just for the record, her entire character is a shoehorn and a pretty boring one too.

reply

Captain Marvel was awesome. I wanted to see more of her also, but they were trying to cover as much of the original characters as possibly before their story arc ends, so I understand their decision to limit her appearances.

reply

Completely agree.. She does not have any place in the team or in the movies... Just a forced addition with no personality to look forward to... A bland boring allegedly superpowered being, which is also something that she didn't earn well enough... Powers just came to her... We could delete her from the mcu without missing an inch of fun..

reply

Even Thor, born a God/prince with Godlike powers had to earn them back by being willing to die. Captain Marvel just had to "believe in herself".

Personally I'd like to have seen her take out Thanos's whole fucking fleet, one ship at a time, with the last ship or two running away at light speed. I don't know why they didn't do that, I suppose they thought it'd be repetitive to have her punch through ship after ship after ship, but I LIKE watching CGI alien ships explode! Bring it on!

I didn't need to see her duel with Thanos, I thought they were right to have the frail little Scarlet Witch be the one who took him on one-on-one. That was really suspenseful.

Nobody wanted to see more of Carol Danvers in this movie. She was barely in it, which was perfect.

reply

More screen time only if it resulted in her death.

reply

Lol

reply

I'd vote for that idea!

reply

I just wish Carol Danvers did more Photon Blast in Endgame.

reply

No, I'm fine with what we had.
