Imagine if the Sexes Were Reversed

'Jennifer Lawrence tries to revive the raunchy, R-rated comedy in NoHardFeelings, in which her character tries to sleep with an "un-f*ckable" 19-year-old.'

Some people have posed my question on social media, and they've been subjected to abuse and snark.

Welcome to the 2020s, where it's seen as *righteous* for thirtysomething + women to exploit and abuse teenage boys/men.

Welcome to the 2020s, where we no longer talk about *equality* and *fairness*, but are all about 'evening the score' by targeting innocent and young men, to 'make up for centuries of male violence.'

Welcome to the 2020s, where we're no longer interested in *equality*. We're only interested in *supremacy* and ignoring double-standards.

Fuck this era. Fuck this world. 😠

reply

Just not fucking you, eh?

reply

Data demonstrates that people are having less sex these days. Data demonstrates that Gen Zers are more likely to be single than previous generations were as similar ages. And you know what? That's perfectly fine. I don't judge. It's unfortunate if people feel lonely, and want families, but ultimately, if people are happy with their circumstances, I'm 100% on their side, and if they're not, once again, I don't judge, because it's not necessarily their fault. It's just the way things are.

But when the same people start to hypocritically judge others for not having sex, as if they're some sort of stud getting laid every night, I do feel obliged to question the BS and the hypocrisy.

So, yeah, I'm not fucking. What of it? I'm not blaming anyone else for that. It is what it is. But I'm not going to fucking beat *myself* up over it either, as certain supposedly 'compassionate' and 'kind' people think I should...

reply

Then why the fuck are you blaming others with that bullshit misogyny.

reply

Please point out to me what I've said that is 'misogynist'. Go on. Any specific line or word will do. And then explain why it's 'misogynist'.

Or do you think complaining about double-standards, and questioning a concept where a thirtysomething woman tries to sleep with a teenage male who she regards as 'unfuckable', is 'misogynist'?

How fucking dare you throw around words like 'misogyny' without ANY basis.

reply

Calling a 19 years old male as unfuckable is clearly OK, but try saying that to 19 years old female, they will bring up misogyny so fast before you can say "What ...".

reply

When she called him unfuckable, she meant that she is a gorgeous girl throwing herself at him and he's blocking her at every turn. She wasn't saying he's too ugly to fuck.

Women rebuffing the advances of guys is typical, so reversing the genders wouldn't have the same context.

reply

I am guessing to you men should still open doors and let women go on life boats first. Gender equality should apply only when it is convenient to women.

reply

I mean...I do and would, but you do whatever makes you happy man.

reply

And women call that patronising and patriarchal, failing to do that however is usually considered misogyny.

reply

You'd let a woman on a lifeboat before you because they're a woman?

reply

Hello? I'm still waiting for your rebuttal.

I assume you have one, since you made such an allegation to begin with, or are you going to take the *coward's* option and put me on 'ignore'?

reply

That turd is coward incarnate - they drop a little meaningless insult then quickly scamper off back into their sty.

reply

Oh, the Irony!

reply

Ah, so the coward incarnate who scampered away into their sty is back an entire 3 months later, probably hoping that I wouldn't respond? Oops.

Maybe you should reply back to the other person who was waiting on you in this thread, if you're suddenly so committed.

reply

Hilarious. Thank you. Will miss you after your inevitable suicide.

reply

Adios.

reply

As soon as the word "misogyny" appears, the conversation is over. Time to stop allowing ad hominem to control conversations.

reply

I enjoyed "Class" back in the 1980s. Is this the same concept?

Maybe cool your boots and at least wait for this movie to be released before having a conniption.

reply

Class was crass. A typical sophomoric early 80s 'teen sex comedy' (although by no means the most egregious, and a little better-directed than many of its ilk).

And plenty of people complain about films before they're released, for all sorts of reasons, but I'm curious as to why you're trying to get me to hush up about a film that says it's okay for male teens to be exploited by thirtysomethings, and which has a Jewish actor play a rich kid whose parents are paying a blonde gentile woman to have sex with him. The WHOLE thing is extremely dodgy, but maybe it's because I actually have genuine and consistent moral, ethical and political principles, whilst the rest of you are fickle and driven by whatever agenda/narrative is popular during the week.

reply

You can pay for one yourself, you know? Get it over with, geez..

reply

Pay for what myself? Prostitution? You support the idea of paying women for sex?

Ah, I think we've all found the *real* incel/misogynist here, ladies and gentlemen. Someone who believes women can be bought and paid for like an object. Disgusting. 😠

reply

I understand. Good luck.

reply

I wish I had been exploited as a male teen. Just saying. It's not getting really getting exploited. My teen friends and I would've called it "getting good pussy". It's a confidence boost that I think every teenager needs.

reply

What's so 'confidence-boosting' about having to 'buy pussy' (to use *your* vernacular)? I'd argue the exact opposite to be honest. And if you're still confident after a prostitute your parents has paid for, tells you 'you were good in bed', the scary thing is, you're deluded.

reply

In the movie that this post pertains to, the teen does not "buy" pussy, he's given it by his parents to help knock him out of his nerd shell. Does she really tell him he's "good in bed"? The movie hasn't been released yet.

Very few guys are "good in bed" the 1st time. I lasted about 10 seconds. It's not the confidence that you're "good in bed", it's just getting over that initial awkwardness of being a virgin, so that you have confidence to pursue women in the future.

You sound a bit like a library nerd yourself if you're uncomfortable using my "vernacular" of "pussy".

reply

The age gap in this movie is less of the problem and more to do with the fact that she kidnaps him. It's harassment and pressure from his family to essentially forcing him into losing his "innocence," if this were a guy then a lot more people would probably have a problem with it.

reply

I dunno, it's just different for men, imo. Men wanna get fucked (well, the normal ones anyway xD). Different social norms I suppose. Like if a female teacher got arrested for fucking a male student and she looks hawt, the comments prove what men want. Meanwhile if the roles were reversed, yeah, because men are usually the pedos when Chris Hansen steps in. This is why sex trafficking of women is a high commodity of the underground market.

ie:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LThkqFu_6DY

THIS is the normal world imo when living outside the average plebs slaving away. It's where the money is, where the blackmarket is, where reality is.

reply

This is reductive, sexist nonsense, which assumes all men are gagging for sex, and all women view sex as an ordeal.

reply

Makes me wish my parents did this for me, sheez! I had to go out and lose my virginity all on my own, and not until I got to college!

reply

If you wanna see a "Fuck this era, Fuck this world" representation, I challenge you to watch yhr TV show A Million Little Things from March 8, 2023. O M F G. I've invested in the show, and this is the last season, so I can't bail now, but I almost threw my remote control through the TV just like Buffalo Bills playoff losses, or any Democrat SOTU address.

reply

I'll bite. What was your particular issue with the show or film? I haven't seen it, so it's a sincere question.

I am however a leftist so don't assume I'm going to agree with your politics.

reply

Last I checked, the gay population in America stands at around 6%, albeit subject to huge demographic variation so leave me alone on that. But on this show it's over 25%, and I'm not exaggerating. And they have all been discriminated against in their past, and we have to be told about it.

And you wonder why in surveys, Americans indeed do think the LGBTQ+ population is in the 20% range.

Statements are made such as "White cops just go to work so they can take pleasure in beating up blacks" (paraphrasing). The setting is Boston.

Black Lives Matters posters placed in the background.

Homeless people all shown as victims. Because the shelters are all full.

All Asian kids are discriminated against at school.

All Rideshare drivers are shown as discriminatory because one of them won't pick up a character in a wheelchair. So the wheelchair guy rebels and becomes a rideshare driver himself.

A professor comments that the wheelchair-bound character must've used "that" to jump the waiting list for her class. (She's white, so she's automatically evil). There is one white couple on the show, but he's half-Hispanic.

White guilt, white, guilt, white guilt, White guilt, white, guilt, white guilt, White guilt, white, guilt, white guilt, White guilt, white, guilt, white guilt, White guilt, white, guilt, white guilt, White guilt, white, guilt, white guilt.

reply

EASY ANSWER...STOP FEELING GUILTY.

reply

I don't feel one ounce of guilt. But I'm tired of being labeled as evil by the liberal media because I'm a straight, white, professional, able-bodied male.

reply

YOU SOUND GUILTY...THAT DESCRIPTION FITS ME AS WELL...YET I FEEL NO GUILT AND HARBOR NO RESENTMENT TOWARDS TV SHOWS OR THEIR CREATORS.

reply

I don't FEEL guilty. Honest. But I'm tired of liberals telling me that I should feel guilty because of my White Privilege. I just finished blasting Colin Kaepernick over on his board for his BS attacks on his parents and the NFL. Now that dude is feeling some serious guilt for being a rich "black" guy. (or half-black anyway).

reply

Well, isn't it a good thing that Kapernick is taking some responsibility for his own privilege? At least he's not just pointing the finger at everyone else (which is what I hate). Taking responsibility is admirable.

reply

Are you male, Kowalski?

Also, we all have different levels of mental health. As kind and compassionate people, isn't on us to make every feel good about themselves, rather than presussuring them to beat themselves up?

Now, I don't know the programme davebuffalo is referring to, and from what he says about it, it doesn't sound like its intent is to make him or anyone else feel guilty, at the same time, I do think we should treat mental health and self-esteem seriously, whoever it pertains to.

For instance, yesterday, I saw a list which said "20 Things Men To Say To Women That Make Them Feel Bad", and yet most of those things could apply to stuff women say to men. The implication was that despite higher rates of male suicide, a woman's mental health is more precious and fragile than a man's, rather than taking a more equitable approach (i.e. let's be nice to everyone).

I also saw a protest in London about how female bike-riders feel unsafe on our roads. Well, I feel unsafe as a *male* bike-rider, and none of the things these women were protesting about were specific to their gender (it didn't pertain to sexual harassment, and since most cyclists wear helmets, you couldn't even argue that men were being ignorant towards female cyclists purposefully on account of their gender).

Why divide people on account of things that actually apply universally? What's the point? Does it make people feel better about themselves, or do they have their heads so far up their asses, that they don't realise what they're complaining about also affects other people?

Self-absorption is one word for it.

reply

In all sincerity, why do you find 25% gay characters offensive or some form of attack on you, or any other straight person?

How do you know the statement about cops is the opinion of everyone working on the show, and not just that of the fictional character speaking?

As someone who works with homeless people and finds that many struggle to find shelter, what's so upsetting/wrong about the way they're portrayed here?

And why do you feel so protective about Rideshare drivers based on how *one* fictional Rideshare character is portrayed?

reply

In all sincerity, why do you find 25% gay characters offensive?

I like for shows to convey reality. I admit, prior to say 2015, media did not fairly portray minorites and the LGBTQ+ community. They showed what the white writers felt, and what the Jewish producers wanted.

To now go overboard and portray society as 25% gay, and 25% black, and all cops hate blacks, is just plain untrue. I call BS on that. How do I make myself more clear?

reply

Unfortunately, after decades in which POC and LGBTQ+ people were ENTIRELY ignored or misrepresented, some filmmakers and showrunners now feel obliged to make-up for that marginalisation by effectively 'stuffing' their 'content' with unrepresentative demographics. Hopefully, things will eventually even-out to where we see films and shows with an *accurate* representation of actual social demographics.

But whilst I instinctively hate the idea of "it's now our turn" when it comes to various demographics (since we're not all homogenous groups, but individuals), I still get it. I still get why POC and other minorities look at several decades worth of media and think "Where are we? It's all white men on the screen!"

reply

I never gave a damn that "Fat Albert" and "The Cosby Show" were all black. I'm not a snowflake like most liberals.

reply

It's this kind of complacency to subversion that just makes me hate the media push for this degeneracy even more.

People's acceptance of it is almost worse than the actual subversion itself.

reply

i agree with you harveys except jizz face jlaw is the one that is unfuckable so boy in this case in unlucky one

not fair on millenials cos we used to get actress like kim baysinger, sharon stones, kathleen turner - sexy womens who could also act but now current generation of film fan get jizz face jlaw? yuck! take that pooch to the pound she need put down hahahahahahahahahha

reply

No need to be rude. I'm not personally attracted to J-Law, but objectively, she is attractive. Maybe it's just cos I'm of an older generation, and tend to gravitate towards women like Basinger and Stone.

reply

by movie star standard jlaw is butt fuglys. but what compound her look is lack of talent and bad attitide (she her saying recent that there is not female hero before recent - liar and woketard)

yes you gravitates to basinger and stone because they look great and have something call.... talent!!!! hahahah!! people of today do not understand this words.

this is what curse actress and film todays - "jizz face" jlaw, "captain pancakes" bree larson, olivia wild. these actress have no talents and are butt fugly bow wows compare to sharon stone and kim basinger

reply

Lawrence has above average in her Hunger Games era... but she hasn't aged well. Hell when I first saw the trailer I didn't even recognize her to start with I just thought who's this ugly blonde. I thought it was just some cheap movie from some college students doing a film class.

reply

WHAT A MAROON.🙄

reply

"Welcome to the 2020s, where we're no longer interested in *equality*. We're only interested in *supremacy* and ignoring double-standards."

what if this helps someone with there sexualiity yeah its an updated version of 1983s Class updates are good not bad no double standard or supremacy

reply

He's sexually impaired. Leave him be.

reply

Ah, you're back. Are you now going to tell me why my OP or anything else I've since said is 'misogynist'?

And what if I were 'sexually impaired'? I don't believe I am, but just for the sake of argument, say I was. What of it?

What does that even mean? How am I 'sexually impaired'?

reply

Nah, I'm going to have to agree with you on this one. I don't know what the other posters are on about. I saw about 5 seconds of the trailer and it already didn't sit right with me. I saw tons of comments saying that it looks good and takes them back to the "2000s" raunchy comedies. Personally I didn't see that at all. The same people who love it would have a problem if it was a guy hanging out with a teenage girl.

reply

Thank you!

And I'm certainly not going to start defending the reverse-dynamic, and argue that two wrongs make a right, BUT the whole point is, this is, as you say, a case of double-standards, and if we wouldn't tolerate a guy exploiting a teenage girl, why is it fine for a woman to exploit a teenage boy?

reply

People are trying to defend this film by saying, "oh, people did it all the time with the roles reversed in movies back then and no one said anything." Well people are complaining about it now, and just because of that it makes it okay?

reply

Welcome to 2023, where we aren't interested in EQUALITY or creating a world based on FAIRNESS and DECENCY, but instead are STUPIDLY all about tit-for-tat and EVENING THE SCORE, by getting REVENGE for what a (long-dead) generation of white men did in EARLIER eras. 🤦‍♂️🙄

When people put narcissism, self-interest and selfishness ahead of PRINCIPLE and what is RIGHT, we end up with a dynamic in which anything goes, because one person will justify their shitty actions, that, in turn, starts a chain-reaction, in which EVERYONE justifies shitty actions on the basis that "the other person is doing it, so..."

This is the post-80s neoliberal consensus at work. The so-called political left gave-up on true equality ACROSS THE BOARD, and it became, instead, all about 'leaning in' and ensuring that a handful of women and POC were able to 'even the score' and be every bit as shitty as straight white men had historically been. 🤦‍♂️🙄

Time for a bit of perspective and decency. Time for people to start putting principle and values ahead of their own selfish wants and desires.
