Just seen it...

... and holy shit is it bad.

- CGI is atrocious all over the movie and it gets worse throughout the ending
- Superman's upper lip is laughable from the beginning and it gets worse.
- Plot is pretty much MoS 101 meets the Avengers - evil guy wants to terraform the planet with 3 Tesseracts.
- Steppenwolf looks straight out of a video game. A very bad video game.
- Wonderwoman is as fast as the Flash at moments [bank scene]
- Flash vs Superman is pretty much a ripoff of the Quicksilver vs Apokalypse scene in the X-men movie.
- When Cyborg flies to hold Superman, it looks terrible.
- Flash pushing the Amazonian sword to her scene is straight out of the other movie with Quicksilver.
- Aquaman is also pretty much Thor-like, except worse.
- Attempts at humor fall flat
- Plot holes. Plot holes everywhere
- "if there is 1% chance" now is "if there is an infinitesimal chance". Still stupid. [the irony is that Cyborg even regards so]
- Cyborg... gahhhhh
- Everyone looked like they were having a gun hold up into their skulls in order to act.
- Most of Flash's longer runs looked as bad as the 90's tv series look nowadays.
- The music is [again] a copy-paste of former material glued together at random. Some old Batman theme here, some old Supes theme there... sprinkled with WW's short burst for a theme and a lot of randomness for good measure.
- Dark filter [yet again]
- Some fighting scenes were way too fast and impregnated with lightning fxs to even tell what was going on.
- Quite a forgettable movie, villain, story, ost.
- Yawned quite a few times.
- The ending is visually atrocious.

The least bad:

- Gal Gadot did ok I guess, but not enough... but I can forgive her. The only one who took her acting somewhat seriously.

Conclusion:

Don't waste your money on a ticket.

Is there a Hall of Justice? Does a narrator ever say "Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice..."?

reply

No, but one of the very last scenes Bruce seems to have bought a Mansion [I guess] and is saying that a round table for six people would be nice.

All they need now is the SUPER PETS!

reply

I think it's supposed to be the disused Wayne Mansion.

reply

Yes, I had the impression it was either his abandoned Mansion or he bought another one.

reply

That's the exact same ending of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

reply

How was that movie? any good?

reply

It's terrible.

reply

damn...

reply

nope the best and brightest movie this year, and at least its not a comedy.

reply

That's the exact same ending of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

^ Yep its also pretty much the same ending as The Avengers...With It Showing The "A" Of Stark tower now gonna be Avengers tower, and showing Tony working on Blue prints for Individual Team team rooms in Avengers tower....

but Damn Its nearly The exact same shot for shot, word for word ending as King Author...

WB was probably right to basically fire Snyder after he showed his first Cut and it was deemed "Unwatchable"....Its clear Snyder deliver yet another truly awful movie, I do believe WB made the right move to fire him and try and save the movie with another director...The MASSIVE problem here, is the writer/director WB choose to come in and try to save the movie...Whedon was just WRONG for The Job....

Age of Ultron was my most anticipated movie of all time...and the reason why was The Avengers, it was my favorite CBM of all time and The best theatrical experience of my life....No words can describe how excited I was for AOU and how excited I was for Whedon coming back to direct it....

But the all changed after I saw AOU opening Night...to me it was the most disappointin movie of all time(Not A bad movie, just not good and Massively disappointing)....Immediately after seeing it, My opinion on Whedon changed....before I basically gave him Sole credit for THe Avengers and its success...after seeing AOU, It became clear to me, The Avengers Success was probably a lot closer to a 50/50 split between Kevin Feige and Whedon...Whedon rewrote The script for The Avengers, but everything he did had to be run by Kevin Feige, Feige mandated what he wanted and Whedon wrote the script based on that....But with AOU, due to the incredible success of The Avengers, Whedon signed a new deal where he got to write The movie/story/script he wanted...and when Whedon had control to do what he wanted, He proved He couldnt do it by himself, AOU wasn't even close to The Avengers in quality ...

reply

Whedon Made A Truly great CBM in The Avengers under the supervision of Kevin Feige...With AOU, He got control to make bis own movie and It resulted in Feige having to step in in post Production and force him to change and fix things because he just couldnt do it by himself.

WB should have seen The Lower quality of AOU and should have know Whedon wasnt right...but most importantly WB should have realized Whedon and Snyder are literally about as 2 different directors and style as you can get, and Whedons tone would not work with Snyders..WB should have also realized Whedon had done 2 Avengers movies, basically every Joke and Team Up Unity that He could think of had already been done, and Him doing Justice League(and being Rushed to do JL) would just result in reusing the same JOKES and Team Building Plot points....

So I got to Blame this on WB....They made the wrong Choice Twice, picked the wrong director Twice....first after The trainwreck that was BvS...I truly can't comprehend how WB brought back Snyder to direct JL....JL should have been delayed,Snyder Publicly fired and WB should have admitted upfront BvS was a creative failure and Not what They or Fans wanted, Then WB should have Got A New Big name Director and new creative team for JL...

they didn't, it resulted in going forward with Snyder, which then resulted in Snyder once again Shitting the bed and making no improvements or changes after BvS and delivering An "Unwatchable" cut of JL to WB....WB now once again, had to pick a writer/director to come in and try to fix the movie, and They simply picked wrong and now with knowledge of how the film turned, WB may have in fact picked the worse possible replacement in Whedon.

The thing that stick out to me, is if you watch The first trailer of JL, you see much of The action scenes that take place in the climax of the film were shot by Snyder, and You can see The Climax of the film Takes PLace at Night...This is literally Stunning, and almost in incomprehensible....this is unequivocal proof that Snyder Truly learned NOTHING from The BvSs backlash...By far the biggest complaint about BvS was the dark, colorless Tone....every fight scene in BvS took place at night and was depressing and devoid of all color...

And if you look at the first Trailer....once again Snyder was going to have every fight scene take place at night....The fight in the tunnel was at night....The fight Sequence between Superman vs JL, originally took place at Dusk...you can see by The Cyborg shot of saving the police officer that Snyder originally had The fight take place damn near at night and it was dark....and finally you can see that The Entire Climax took Place At Night under Snyders direction....

now the theatrical version changed all this, THe climax was changed to a much Brighter Redish sky and The Fight between Superman and JL was completely brightened and takes place in Sunny daytime.

But this Literally is beyond comprehension that Snyder Literally either Truly Did NOT CARE, simply did NOT care that The Majority of audiences Hated his Dark, colorless Fight scenes in BvS and Then decided to do the exact same thing again in JL ...Or even worse, Hes just incapable of change, incapable of learning from mistakes...

BvS was so devoid of Color, Joy and DAYLIGHT....It was A Problem that was Universally stated and agreed with....and Snyder doesn't change a single thing in JL, Literally Repeats the same exact formula...

I did not like JL, I didnt like any of the action scenes, but I did enjoy them at least taking place at daytime, it did bring A different tone and feel to the movie.

lol its truly scary thinking about Snyder cut...just the realization that Snyder once again set every fight scene at night and The movie was devoid of all Color once again and The thought that He actually Had Superman as Evil and The Villain The entire movie....is just beyond comprehension after The reception of BvS....

lol Snyders made 2 Superman movies, and in both Movies, Audiences universally complained about Superman not being Happy, being Joyless, no emotions and His Suit being so dark and colorless......and Stunningly Snyder actually directs JL With Superman in BLACK Suit and Being Evil....Not talked about, Not ran it by WB, No Snyder Literally Shot The movie this way....

it just proves a complete lack of being able to learn from mistakes, or a complete disregard for Audiences opinions and Desires...

Its almost like he did it out of Spite, Like he literally picked the 2 biggest complaints about BvS, and decided to repeat and ONE UP them In JL...

Ok, you dont like The tone, you dont like the fight scenes taking place at night, Ok, I'll do it again JL....

Ok you dont like My take on Superman, you dont like his emotions, you dont like his suit isn't bright red and blue, Ok, I'll make him evil with NO emotions at all, Ill make his Suit BLACK.

By chance are you a writer?

Hey remember in another thread you embarrassingly said "since JL is at 481 M after 10 days, then It will double and be at 960 M after 20 days"

lol remember I was stunned by your complete lack of knowledge of box office and replied by telling you JL Would finish around 650 M....

well just wanted to post this-

Final intl wknd for #JusticeLeague came in at $71.5M boosting cume to $311M & global tally to $482.9M. Last yr #BatmanVSuperman absorbed 78% of its worldwide final by end of 2nd wknd. A similar path ahead for JL puts it on course for a final of about $650M.

Tweet from box office analst^

but good lock hoping for JL to Make another 480 in the next 10 days, unfortunately it wont even make another 150 Million for the rest of its ENTIRE RUN, but hey hoping and living in a fantasy world may in fact be a better option than Living In REALITY where JL is A Disaster on A never before seen scale(I mean that Literally) JL isn't Just box office disaster, The damage it and BvS has done to A Franchise is beyond calculation...

reply

I was disappointed in AOU too, but it grew on me over time. BvS never did, and I even bought the extended cut that everyone said was an improvement.

reply

WB fired Snyder? He left because of his daughter's death and already completed the filming around that point. Weldon took over the post-production in Snyder's absence.

reply

If you read inside accounts, Either Snyder Quit or was fired, Unfortunately the death of his daughter was used as an excuse so the film didnt receive A death blow .....

basically by all Accounts, Snyder Showed WB an early first cut of the film....WB was horrified, and deemed The cut "Unwatchable"....WB then mandated The film had to be changed and lighten, Snyder of course didnt want or like this, but had no choice but to go along, WB brings in Whedon to write new scenes, Insiders say, Snyder was involved at this point, and was even working with Whedon on new scenes and Lighten the tone....But things went downhill Quickly, WB quickly started moving towards Whedons "Tone" of The film and Ideas, Wanted Whedon to lighten it even more and write even more new Scenes....This is when Snyder was out....

at some point Snyder had to go to WB and say, "I dont agree with whats going on, Whedon is changes the movie too much, This is not what I want, I dont agree with this"

at that point 1 of 2 things had to have happened....Either WB said "I'm sorry but you have no choice, The Execs are not happy with your Film, This is a company decision....changes are being made"

Or probably more likely Snyder saw the handwriting on the wall and simply quit, went WB and said look "We obviously have 2 completely different visions, I'm not on board with what Whedon is doing, But this is your Movie and company So its your choice, I think it would be best if I leave the movie all together and Whedon Finishes it"

at some point, ^ this convo happened....

the truly awful thing here is, either Snyder, WB or BOTH used his daughters death as A card to play so the movie wouldnt recieve A Death Blow of negative media when word got out that Snyder had been fired or quit because of creative differences....

WB would have been looking at A "Fantastic Four"(2015) type Disaster if it got out that Snyder quit or was fired because he once again made another BvS type disaster with JL....

reply

It would be very low to use Autumns Snyders death to fire her father.

reply

I would think so too if this one was all WB's idea for a cover up.

reply

Yeah, I could see creative differences being very likely upon his termination (whether if Snyder quits or got fired).

But how would that still explain him remaining executive producer for Aquaman?

reply

because Executive Producers literally dont have to do a thing...Nolan was a Producer on BvS and by all accounts he literally did nothing for the film...

Snyder role as Executive Producers truly may be as simply as someone like Wan or Jenkins calling him on the phone and running An Idea by him and seeing if he has any input....

from what Ive read, WB actually likes Snyder....thats why the stuck with him Despite FAILING literally at every turn....they have a production deal with him...

They may still want make movies with him, Just Not comic book movies....

I would expect Aquaman, Wonder Woman 2, A Flash solo movie and Maybe even Shazam to still have him as a producer because All of the films were either in Production, Pre Production or early planning stages while Snyder was still there and Still giving Input....

Aquaman by far the easiest to explain, it would be impossible for Snyder NOT to be a Producer on that Film, Because Wan had to have Spent A HUGE amount of time with Snyder in Pre Production and even before signing on to direct....Wan would have wanted to know every single thing that was going to happen in JL, what Snyders Vision was for Aquaman in JL and if Wan wanted to go along with that....Wan and Snyder probably Ran ideas back and forth all the time through 2016 and early 2017....

The real test will be if the DCEU continues...I would expect Movies like Green Lantern, The Batman, Maybe Suicide Squad 2 to be Snyderless,I highly doubt Snyder will get a producer credit on these films....

right now the batch of films that are coming out all started out when Snyder was still in DEEP with the DCEU....and All these films, all the directors had to go through Snyder and Talk to him because He was doing JL, They needed to know exactly what was taking place, what his visions for the characters were and see if they wanted to sign on and what not....

I cant imagine movies like Green Lantern, The Batman or even Suicide Squad 2 having anything to with Snyder....

reply

Oh, I see. That one would make sense.

Plus Aquaman is also almost literally around the corner for next year. So it would've been a little late to try to have Snyder's name pull out from the credits of Aquaman, at least.

reply

every time you open doors. I, for one, wouldn't want to eat there.

reply

Hey!!!

I liked the 90's Flash TV show. Sure, it was cheesy but at least it used authentic cheese unlike this fast food effort of a movie.

reply

so did I. Even remember the opening theme.

reply

Hell, I own it on DVD and on Digital.

reply

those were the days. Some good tv shows back then on saturday afternoon

reply

You are pretty much describing every single movie of the last 20 years.

reply

that should say something for the quality of this blockbuster.

reply

it says more about the general state of affairs than it does about justice league, and of course to your oblivious nature, that it takes THIS FILM for you to realize that movies have been in a dumpster for 20 years.

reply

That's hilarious. Thanks for the laughs, but these last 20 years have been throwing pretty good movies.

THIS FILM - I can hardly even call it that - is pretty shitty. That's all.

reply

Only to people who are ignorant about film.

Please, teach me, oh Master! I beg thee!!!!

reply

Please, teach me, oh Master! I beg thee!!!!

Great answer, lol! (talk about pretentious!)

reply

No, people who are ignorant about film are the ones MAKING these movies.

reply

Agree with most of your points.

The action is supposed to be thrilling but was severely marred by bad editing choices in CGI. The plot and enemy was pointless and forgettable. The dialogue felt a bit rushed.

On the good side there was a sense of tension and high stakes, such as reviving Superman and the Russian family under alien attack. Also the acting was good overall, and some character quips/scenes were interesting or entertaining, eg. Wonder Woman on the danger of technology, the Flash's nerdy disposition/glee regarding Batman, Commissioner Gordon coming to grips with the extra hero elements, Aquaman's rough-edged personality, etc.

reply

I didn't feel the stakes at all. I have to say the best part of the movie for me was the Amazons fighting. But even then the hilarity of how bad Steppenwolf looked took me away from any sort of tension.

Who design Flash costume?

reply

no, I mean in the movie's story. Is it Bruce wayne?

reply

No, the suit is already there. How he got his hands on materials made for space ships is... take a guess.

reply

Yep saw it too and agree 100%.

reply

Just seen it and .. I like it.

I went it with little to no expectations and I have to say (almost begrudgingly) that it was good. I can see why people would find issue with it off course but I really enjoyed the story even though i understand the negative reviews.

reply

that's pretty ok.

reply

It was a step up from BvS though. Bad special effects or not.

reply

and a solid bowel movement is a step up from diarrhea.....but it's still crap at the end of the day.

reply

I preferred it to Wonder Woman. WW was overrated as shit.

reply

Respectfully disagree. Wonder Woman was the closest WB has gotten (IMO) to getting one of these right. If WB was a Fox CBM, it would be in their upper tier. If it were a Marvel movie, it would be comparable to the first two Thors or Doctor Strange. BUT it isn't either of those. It's in the WB CBM. And in THAT cesspool, it's a diamond ring floating atop the refuse.

reply

All I could think when watching WW was "I'd bone her silly".

reply

I disagree. WW was good for the first half, then it just got stupid. All the last half action was slow motioned at inappropriate times which made it boring to watch.
The idea of her 'stopping Ares to solve the problem of war' was brilliant, had it played out with the German being a nobody and the war continuing, GREAT! War is human nature, great message and a good reason for her to stop trying.
But no, Ares shows up and all the people end up hugging.
You're forced to endure a stupid recruitment scene half way through the film for lame characters no one gives a shit about who don't actually provide any kind of useful service to the story.
The trench scene was annoying as hell, she walked forward with a shield... seriously?
The best sequence in the whole film was her in London beating up the guys trying to kill Chris Pine.
Had the action been along that vein it would have been epic... it wasnt.
