JFK blown away

what else do I have to say?

reply

But who wanted him dead? The FBI, the CIA, and the Mafia? Or just Jack Ruby? Or was Jack Ruby just a pawn of someone else?

reply

Jack Leon Ruby was a Dallas, Texas nightclub owner. He fatally shot Lee Harvey Oswald on November 24, 1963, while Oswald was in police custody after being charged with assassinating United States President John F. Kennedy and murdering Dallas policeman J. D. Tippit about an hour later.

Hmm I think Jack is just a anti-communist dude offed Oswald for that. Organized crime was more of pimpin and maybe allowed or gave pass to narcotics. I don't think there is anything suspicious about him. As for the FBI/CIA, I think maybe the military. Didn't Kennedy want to pull out of Vietnam?

reply

Don't forget Jack Ruby. He was a diamond in the roughe.

So who DID start the fire????

You should put in the word "spoiler" in your heading

JFK was the worst President in American history. There.

reply

I disagree.

He betrayed the Cubans at the Bay of Pigs and allowed the Communists to slaughter them. This encouraged the Soviets to try and put missiles in Cuba. He brought the world to the brink of nuclear war. He never lifted a finger to help the Civil Rights movement. He was also a scumbag who cheated on his wife. Lyndon Johnson was a far better President.

reply

Ok, that is nothing compared to other, worse presidents.
Just look at that clown 2 years ago.

reply

There really is nothing worse than a nuclear holocaust.

I'd say George W Bush comes close to JFK by dragging us into two Asian wars.

reply

Well violating human rights, turning back progress or raping the planet are, in my book, more disastrous than a (supposedly) almost conflict.

But I agree, W was a disgraceful president.

reply

My problem with JFK is also that he was only in office for 2 years, and he did almost nothing except betray the Cubans and fuck Marilyn Monroe. Yet, he's lionized as a hero. It was all the power of his daddy's money.

reply

JFK did quite a bit for civil rights and to change the traditional mindset of society (including fucking Marilyn).
But his legacy is obviously multiplied and magnified by the fact that he was assassinated like that, turning him into a martyr, a hero, an icon.

reply

JFK's civil rights effort was stalled because he didn't know how to work congress and was too snobbish to use a valuable and available resource - LBJ.

LBJ felt his job was to pursue JFK's plans rather than his own. So he pushed the Civil Rights Act through.

Overall, I agree with you, but Onan's post has some validity, though some of his earlier posts are too harsh (I am being generous).

Biden, Obama and Carter are much worse.

🤨

reply

I don't like those three either. But George W Bush was worse.

reply

Nope! Those three are definitely the worst!

🤨

reply

Nah, squandering trillions of dollars and thousands of young lives in Iraq and Afghanistan as Bush did was far worse.

reply

You do have a point.

🤨

reply

👍

I'm not saying Biden and Obama weren't lousy Presidents. They just didn't create as much damage as Bush.

reply

The CIA started the fire.
