A couple things really bother me

In a few episodes, villains like the Joker and Catwoman are shown in jail, yet they are in their costumes and make up in the jail cell. This makes no sense. Everyone knows while in jail, you are wearing a prison outfit. Another thing that bothers me is quite often the villains capture Batman and Robin and no one removes their masks. Why? Sounds like I found a pair of plot holes in this otherwise well written series

reply

What bothers me is how Batman & Robin scale up the buildings, but it's actually the camera on a 90 degree angel to create that illusion.
It's a sham!

reply

TV ISN'T REAL??? NO WAY!
What about "REALITY" shows, hmmm? "REALITY!" Those gotta be real

reply

What bothers me is that I can't sniff Eartha Kitt's pants

reply

Out of all the catwomen, she's the one whose pants you want to sniff?

reply

Must be jungle fever.

reply

You're right all of them makes more sense, especially Halle Berry.

A few more things:

The henchmen rarely have guns, yet they work for arch-criminals. Shouldn't they be able to arm them properly?

Why leave Batman and Robin in an elaborate death trap every week, when you could just shoot them?

Can't - Henchman's Union forbids carrying ballistic weapons.

Why leave Batman and Robin in an elaborate death trap every week, when you could just shoot them?

Can't - Arch Villain's Union forbids summarily executing any crusader who's caped.

reply

And Alfred sometimes poses as Batman, and fools everyone despite being much taller with a moustache!

reply

In a world where law enforcement wears tights, a mask, bat ears, and a cape - prisoners can dress however they want. But we may have just seen scenes of Joker and Catwoman in the holding cell, before they were processed to go into the general population.

reply

To make more costumes is a cardinal sin in the television business. To reuse any footage of a character is considered excellent business. This is why nearly all 1960's television characters nearly always wore the same outfits, hair styles, and makeup. So old footage could be seamlessly blended with new footage to save on shooting costs. Easier to spot now that most properties are available in high def.

reply

So you are saying they weren't able to film any of those crooks in a jump suit while in jail?

reply

The producers can do anything that they want to. Having said that they always opt for the cheapest alternative. Costumes get damaged therefore there are ready replacements for the major characters in any production. I would imagine that on Batman there were a dozen Joker costumes and a dozen Catwoman costumes ready to go as they do not want to hold up production if a costume became damaged. Season 3 the budgets were squeezed pretty hard so absolutely no unnecessary expenses. Get a Joker and Catwoman costume out and get the scene shot. Nothing more to it.

reply

I have noticed at the beginning of each episode when the bat mobile pulls up to the commissioners office, its the same footage repeated every time

reply

Yeah, I noticed that as well.
In 1967.

Umm, how could anything in this ridiculously camp spandex-fest be considered a plot hole? Nothing really makes much sense in Batman. It’s outrageously and shamelessly over-the-top and that’s how it should be. You could spend all day listing “plot holes” but I think you’d be completely missing the whole point of the show, to turn your brain off and have fun.

reply

I don't see the series the same way you do. This is a serious crime action series and has some of the greatest criminal minds ever trying to take down Gotham. And I don't like lazy writing which at times, is all over the place

reply

“This is a serious crime action series”

😳

I’ve never heard anyone describe the Batman tv series quite like that before.

Yeah, we definitely have completely different views on the show, which is fine. For me though anything that illustrates every fight with POW 💥 THWACK 💥 ZING 💥 YAZOON 💥 is about as far from a serious crime series as you could possibly get 😆

reply

Some of the greatest fights I ever seen on TV has been in this series. Batman and Robin would show us every week just how tough they were. The super villains, despite having some intimidating henchmen, always came up short

reply

Errr, ok.

Look, I’m not going to crap on your obvious affection for this show. It’s good that you love it so much and like I said, it’s fine that we see it differently. Go well millsey 🙂👍

reply

Definitely ripping plot holes ... congratulations!
