All of Greta Gerwigs movies.

Lady Bird - Its so hard to be a Women in High School in America
Little Women - its so hard to be a Women in the 19th Century
Barbie - Its so hard to be a Women in the 21st Century.

Greta Gerwigs is going be next Stanley Kubrick. Because if there one thing Stanley Kubrick was known for. It was making the same movie over and over and over again.

THAT IS FACTUALLY INCORRECT...SHE IS FEMALE...HER EXPERIENCE IS FEMALE...HER VOICE IS FEMALE...NOTHING ABOUT HER MOVIES IS REDUNDANT.

WHERE DO YOU DICK WEASELS KEEP COMING FROM?🫤

reply

Thank you. You are always the voice of reason.

reply

Yeah, it's so hard to be a woman, which she is. Ignore the fact that she's a millionaire, an award winning director given a ridiculously expensive movie with enormous marketing which happens to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the summer, which constantly tells the audience how shitty men are and women are so oppresed, while receiving a parade of ass kissing reviews that love the message while simultaneously going on about the movies flaws, which happen to star a female lead that is currently one of the biggest box office draws in the country...but yeah, it's so hard to be a woman.

reply

Just know that she has more money and success than you ever will. Sit back and witness her live a good life while you work a 9-5 until the end of time. I love it actually. The more misery someone like you experiences the better.

reply

Ah, so you can't counter anything Burk said.

reply

Oh I can I just want to rub in the fact that he is an incel. Carry on and get back to your life bud.

reply

"INCEL" there it is.

nothing REAL to back your discussion... lean in to insults. you're a worthless dumbshit.

If you aren't a wothless dumbshit, pray tell, how do you know he is an "Incel", thus explaining how you were NOT using the term to be insulting?

reply

Incels are typically upset over a movie about a doll. Who is forcing you idiots to watch this film? Go ahead tell me who forced you to watch it? I gave up explaining things to worthless idiots like yourself. Get back to your life bud. Sound good?

reply

if you what you say is true, you must know many incels very well. I will give you that. I wonder why? interesting.

and you still didn't answer the other guys question about counter what burk said. because it was all truth, and the best you had was name calling someone.

you lost hard, bro

reply

Are you so dense that you don't realize you're literally proving his point?

reply

I doubt it. So far her movies either have gotten no attention or just plain suck. Only reason her films are being greenlit is because she kisses the right asses in Hollyweird and has powerful friends.

reply

I am not a fan of her or her movies. I did not watch Ladybird, was forced to watch her rendition of Little Women and hated it and I will not watch Barbie or Snow White (she wrote the script). I agree that her movies suck. But to say they "have gotten no attention" shows you don't know much on the subject.

Academy Award nominee for Best Best Adapted Screenplay: Little Women (2019), Best Achievement in Directing: Lady Bird, Best Original Screenplay: Lady Bird.

Critics Choice Awards nominee for Best Director: Little Women, Best Adapted Screenplay: Little Women, Best Original Screenplay: Lady Bird, Best Director: Lady Bird.

Apparently you're not aware of just why people win awards in Hollyweird anymore, because it's not based on talent or hard work at all. There's a reason bad films like Greta's have won awards. She kissed the right asses and had friends who whispered into the right ears to get her those awards. Plus, she makes her films to cater to the very people presenting the awards, rather than for real people outside of LA.

It's gotten to the point that those awards have become meaningless, particularly if you look at the "quality" of the winners. They're like Nobel Prizes, worth about as much as toilet paper. They're lumps of plastic and metal that will make her wall look nice, but eventually collect dust, just like her movies will in the grand schemes of history.

There was a veteran actor from the older days of Hollyweird who described the Oscars as "just Hollywood glorifying itself." Their awards most of the time don't really matter in the long run. The fact that so few people even watch them anymore is a testament to the worthlessness of those awards the ceremonies used to present them.

reply

Yep. David Bowie turned down working in tons of other movies because it ''bored'' him.

He famously refused a knighthood and other awards because he "knows his own worth"

reply

Wow. Didn't know the guy had a strong character like that.

reply

Yeah, he knew his own mind.

reply

The Nobel Science awards are prestigious. Maybe you meant the Nobel Peace prizes which are a joke.

reply

YOU HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OF HER FILMS.

reply

that ALMOST looks like some kind of "agenda" there.

funny.

Greta, enjoy your riches, ya dumb bitch, built from the foundation of the very "patriarchy" you pretend to dispise for profit.

reply

I haven't seen any of them yet. I watched the first few minutes of Lady Bird, but once I realized it was a teen angst film, and not a biopic of Lady Bird Johnson, I turned it off. I will watch it at some point, but it was such a departure from what I was expecting that I had no interest in watching at that time.

I only know her from Frances Ha, a film I was told by a person whose opinion on film I respect was a masterpiece but one I simply could not finish. I rarely turn films off, but that one I stopped and rejoined over the course of few days, making it through perhaps the first hour before finally giving up altogether. At some point I'll sit and watch it in one sitting, but I just wasn't in the mood at that time.

reply

It should be illegal and sanctioned with a harsh corporal punishment to write Greta Gerwig in the same sentence of Stanley Kubrick.

reply

Good point, lol.

reply

I agree movies from Gerwig are the same, but Kubrick? Where?

reply

It was sarcasm. The OP was dishing shade at Gerwig for being overly one-note and repetitive with her choice of themes in her films. Kubrick couldn't be more different, he made movies with vastly different themes, plots, and tones almost each and every time.

reply

DISHING SHADE?...🤣

reply

She is nothing like Stanley Kubrick. Her films actually make sense and she is down to earth.

reply

Yeah, because God forbid one actually has to think and analyze the film they're watching and for a director to be confident in his abilities rather than succumbing to the modern trend of fake modesty.

reply

OR...GOD FORBID SOMEONE ADMIT THAT FILM COMES IN ALL STYLES AND GENRES...ALL OF WHICH ARE VALID.
