Why Pence is a good pick for 2024 Republican nominee

1). Pence is respectable enough to be the GOP nominee, without doing damage to the GOP brand. But Pence is also not the future of the party. Therefore, he is a good sacrificial lamb to face a popular Biden incumbent. He can lose without embarrassing the party or undermining its future

2). Pence was close enough to the Trump presidency where he can draw Trump supporters. Yet Pence was also distant enough to the Trump presidency that he can evade any of the scandals that plagued Trump. He is the perfect candidate to smooth out the relationship between Trump and the Republican party

3). Pence is still young enough to run. He will be 66 years old in 2024, which is 10 years younger than Biden now

It would all depend on having the right message for his campaign. Some might not view him favorably after how the Trump presidency ended. I'm in favor of Ron Desantis running for President.

reply

DeSantis won't run in 2024 because Biden will have strong approval ratings, with Covid's becoming a distant memory. Historically, good candidates wait for the open field instead of challenging a tough incumbent (and losing).

reply

Biden will be too old to run again. He'll be 82 in 2024.

reply

Biden was too old to run the first time lol

reply

Wasn't the first time right after the civil war?

reply

He lost to Grant in 1868. That's when he swore he'd never die until he had won the presidency.

reply

Biden never had strong approval ratings, he couldn't even get 500 people to a rally, yet miraculously managed to get 10 million more people to vote for him than Obama, even though Biden didn't even have a strong ticket and had no messaging other than "if you don't vote for me you ain't black!" and basically not being Trump.

The guy is only in office due to rigging, as evident by the security logs released of the machines that were interfered with by the Chinese, as further evidenced in the audits taking place.

The only way Biden "wins" again is due to more cheating, especially if they can secure HR1 in swing states where the Demonrats can rig to their heart's content.

reply

Pence doesn't have a chance. Trump/DeSantis that's the ticket

reply

Trump may be too old to run in 2024, and he has a ton of baggage.

DeSantis will hold off until 2028, as Biden will likely be too popular in 2024. DeSantis will wait for the open field in 2028.

reply

LOL Biden too popular?

Nah Trump will run again and DeSantis is my hope for VP

reply

DeSantis? LOL

The Republican sewer needs DeSanitization, not DeSantis.

reply

Right, Mike Pence ... what a joke, why would any country need a national leader whose only skill is kissing President Trump's ass?

I am sure Pence would be awesome ... maybe Republicans would even hang him before the election thus ensuring a Biden victory.

reply

The GOP ticket will be wide open imho. Their focus now is to win back the Houses and push legislation at the state level that supports their religious agenda and see if their activist RW SCOTUS judges will vote in favor of it.

reply

Religious agenda? You're thinking of the 1980s.

reply

Pence can go to hell like the coward he is. Even if he did win the presidency, he would be the Democrats' bitch, just like Bush Jr. and get nothing done, and he wouldn't say a word to the press while they demonized him for everything he did, even if it was good.

reply

I don’t think he would beat Biden in 2024. With COVID ending, the country will be roaring in 2024, and people will praise Biden.

The Republicans will need a sacrificial lamb. They need someone who will lose to Biden without damaging the party name. Pence is a good pick. He won’t embarrass the GOP brand as the nominee in 2024, and since he isn’t the future of the party, his loss won’t be devastating.

reply

Trump will run over him during the primaries faster than he ran over Hillary, and take on the nomination. Pence will never make it to the final run. You don't betray your Commander-in-Chief and get away with it.

reply

1. Mike Pence is a traitor.

2. Mike Pence is a traitor.

3. Mike Pence is a traitor.

For these reasons, no
self-respecting Trump supporter would EVER vote for Pence! Al Sharpton has a better chance to win the Republican nomination....

reply

Pence will be able to mobilize a sizeable group of Trump supporters for the simple reason that Pence, for 4 years, was one of Trump’s biggest ambassadors.

reply

Are you serious Clark?

reply

Mike Pence sold out Trump and his supporters. IF Donald decides to run again, it’ll be “Mike Who?”. If Donald doesn’t run again, there’s quite a few people who could be considered for the Republican ticket. Ted Cruz, Tim Scott, Ron De Santis.... But, Mike Pence is now a has been. He fucked himself.

reply

Has no national constituency. Became a national figure because of a constituency of one, and a reluctant one at that. Probably wouldn't win even one primary.
