They're sounding very dated now
I think none but the olds can listen to them anymore.
shareSome of the early songs are sounding dated I agree with you but some of the later songs still hold up very well.
Everything from Revolver on is still genius. If a listener doesn't appreciate the White Album, for instance, that says more about that person than just his/her age.
shareEverything from Rubber Soul on...
shareHelp has 'Yesterday' and 'You've got hide your love away' and 'I've just seen a face.'
I would say 65 onwards, they've pretty much left the mop top period behind.
Rubber Soul is still my favorite. Other bands have trouble to create even a best-of album with so many great songs...
Revolver comes second...
Rubber Soul was my favorite for a while. But Revolver is like the greatest mix tape every made, so many different styles.
And now I'm liking Abbey Road, their musical abilities just kept getting better. And Let it Be is vastly underrated.
MY DAUGHTER IS 14...THE BEATLES ARE HER FAVORITE BAND.
shareTake some earplugs and listen to the Magical Mystery Tour. The stereo effects alone are more valuable than the lifetime achievements of any contemporary musician I know...
shareThey were popular many decades ago, of course they will sound dated. But some songs will always be relevant. Even 90's songs sound dated now which was my generation.

The sound? Maybe, but the *music* is timeless. Those melodies will be played as long as humans walk on the planet.
