Grateful Dead has been my favorite band since I was 15 or 16 years old.

I own over 30000 albums and singles and I don’t have anything by them 🤦‍♂️

reply

reply

Ok, I just listened to the first 30 seconds of Box Of Rain (which reminded me of The Byrds) and I’ve instantly decided that I like them.

I’ll start collecting their albums.

reply

A million thumbs up!

reply

I’m not bloody buying all their live bootlegs - I’ll need to buy another house, lol.

reply

After American Beauty next up is Workingman's Dead.

reply

Both from 1970.

reply

They really shine live, so I'd give Europe '72 my highest rating, but to support my paiasan', American Beauty and Workingman's are my two favorite studio albums of theirs.

reply

I may be gone for quite sometime, lol.

I like your list a lot, except for Blur and Status Quo (because I never heard of them) and Radiohead (heard of them but not familiar with their tunes)

reply

You need to get on Quo ASAP.

reply

Heard this one somewhere before, the opening riff is definitely familiar

reply

I have all their albums (including solo stuff), have seen them at least 20 times and met Sir Francis Rossi last year 🤘🎸

reply

Such an underrated band. They were pretty irrelevant in the US which is a shame because KISS was more popular than them.

reply

There are many bands that are strangely successful in one country but not another.

reply

I’m currently compiling my Top 500 artists and will post it one day. In the meantime:

I saw Flock of Seagulls at a small venue last year and they put on a great show.

reply

Awesome! My second-oldest sister saw them back when she was a student at Ohio State in the early 80s. It was actually the very first rock concert she saw...she said they put on a great show!

I just love their "extended mix" of "Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You)" that they did back in the mid-80s. They were really a talented band...glad that they're still performing and that you got to see them last year!

reply

Does he still have the hair?
