What is the most 80's movie?

I think it might be St. Elmo's Fire. It has aspiring upward yuppies, the fashion and feel of that decade. The 80's themselves were something that either you liked or didn't including the culture just like the film. I imagine most think it was bad, like the film.

What's your candidate?

MANNEQUIN (1987)

I bet Stratego will back you up on St. Elmo's Fire but I hated that movie (I DO love Stratego though.)
That movie was a total bore, SHEESH!

I'd say The Goonies, Back To The Future, Gremlins and E.T. were all really great 80s movies.
All the kids had bikes or skateboards, there was cool music and scary adventures, a cute girl was usually involved, nobody important died...just good escapist fun.

Lol, sweetie, I only love the movie as a torture device. The movie itself is just horrible with extremely unlikeable characters.

Anyway, see you next Friday, right? We'll have a blast with you tied to a chair having to watch that VHS tape of St. Elmo's Fire on repeat. Love ya!😘

This is a really interesting question. I can think of several films just off the top of my head that all have heavy doses of things most people would associate with the 80's, but maybe in different ways.

Cobra (1986)
Weird Science (1985)
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)
The Karate Kid (1984)

I also agree with KOWALISKI's pick: MANNEQUIN (1987) and nyctc7's Beverly Hills Cop (1984) and all of Shogun's picks too, especially ET (1984)

Great 80s movies right there.

My Science Project was also pretty good and sadly seldom mentioned. Fun movie!

I can’t believe the weekend movie watching crew hasn’t done this one yet. Total masterpiece and it’s on YouTube. I back this recommendation 100%.

Of course I could name plenty of other 80s movies but Miami Connection is just too awesome not to be a part of this discussion.

People how haven’t seen this need to check it out. You have no soul if you don’t shed a tear when that one dude tells the group about being adopted. 😀

reply

There's too much man feet in that movie. The last thing I want to see if some dude smearing his nasty foot on another guy's face.

reply

You’ve got to fight through that and watch it!

reply

I've seen it. I really was not impressed with the man feet to minute ratio.

reply

yeah, might have been more effective with a female lead. 😀

reply

That's only one scene and is part of Dragon Sound's act putting on a show with their sweet Tae Kwan Do while playing good music. Friends to Enternity!!

reply

Still. It's cringey and I have to look away.

reply

No such thing.

reply

Except when we're talking about man feet.

I have the vinegar syndrome 4k edition and it's probably the most valuable movie in my collection.
