Movies in which you sided with bad guy?

Looking for movies in which bad guy is more glamourized than good guys. One in which you lived vicariously in his shoes.
Not looking for any silly super-hero movie btw.

Men have tendency to like to watch sports and watch action movies because they like to live variously as those athletes or those strong or dangerous studs in movies. That's exactly what I am looking for.

Payback. Mell Gibson made that movie to your exact specifications. The tag line was, “It’s time to root for the bad guy.

Law Abiding Citizen (2009)

reply

Agreed! Great revenge flick. Have seen it several times.

reply

Strange Brew. With all due respect to the McKenzie Brothers, an evil empire lead by Max Von Sydow would be beyond cool.

reply

Ahhh! Take off, you hoser.

I always felt bad for Paulie Cicero in Goodfellas which of course I admit is ridiculous. Cicero was based on a real Brooklyn mobster named Paul Vario who ran a Lucchese Family crew and they were all terrible murderers and thieves. Vario died in prison which is what he deserved.

But the Paul Sorvino performance in Goodfellas was just so good and charming that I loved the character and felt bad when he was betrayed by his close associates.

Paulie should have gotten rid of Henry and Jimmy the minute he realized they were selling junk but he hesitated out of some kind of brotherly/fatherly feelings towards them.

Anyway, they all had a bad end coming.

reply

Which is funny, as you say, because the real Vario was an ugly cold-hearted cold-eyed back-stabbing killer. :)

reply

Not the same thing but I was happy in the movie Pulp Fiction when Vincent got blown away by Butch.

I suppose though that in most of the Friday the 13th movies that feature Jason as the killer, I root for him to kill the most immature sex mongering characters.

The Titanic

Ha😀
That iceberg was a total son of a bitch but it sure got that long ass movie going lol!

Too soon..?

reply

Lol….. I was hoping Billy Zane would kick Leo’s ass the whole movie.

Holy Shit!
I was on a date and just wanted to get my girl back out to the parking lot and into the car, I wanted every character to die within ten minutes!

I don’t remember half that movie😂

I saw Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) in cinema as a youngling and cried when Darth Maul died. I dressed up as him the following Christmas, he was my hero.

My favorite characters in The Lord of the Rings trilogy were the Nazgul aka Ringwraiths. All my siblings, cousins and friends liked Legolas, Aragorn, Gimli and Gandalf but I was just built different.

Shortly thereafter I was watching horror films and became a big Jason Voorhees fanboy.

I've always rooted for the baddies.

reply

I also rooted for Mew Two in Pokémon: The First Movie (1998). I've always been a cunt.

reply

Am I like too freaky for thinking that Darth Maul was sexy as fuck???? 🤔🤔🤔🤔

That's normal for the 'fairer' sex. Being sexually attracted to deformed monsters is a female past time it seems.

reply

But he didn't look like a deformed monster to me. He looked kind of handsome. Only with a different skin color than me. And I'm very picky about looks. 😆😆😆😆

reply

Do you find the actor handsome? Or was it the makeup?

reply

The actor was definitely handsome back then. But, I didn't see pictures of him until after seeing the movie. I think it was a combination of the makeup and the eyes. Especially those awesome eyes. And that intense look. Very striking.

Darth Maul is a badass character, I'm not surprised that so many people liked him. I also was a fan of him as a child.
But I could not root for him during his fight with Qui-Gon, because Liam Neeson also made that character very likeable.

reply

The Rock- I think everyone would believe General Hummel (Ed Harris) was right in wanting compensation for the families of fallen soldiers. He just went about trying to get it the wrong way.

reply

Yes! Minus the nuking part, I was totally rooting for him
