Don't you hate it when a product you love gets discontinued.

Cheap, effective and great for dry sensitive skin.

Bastards !

This happened to me with Mataldia Bay wine coolers in the 90’s.

reply

Did you find an alternative tipple ?

reply

Maybe they'll be a comeback like they did with Zima after being discontinued for years.

reply

That would be great!

reply

That bar is translucent but not transparent.

reply

Do you want to sue them for false advertising ?

reply

That's an idea! 🤪

reply

Story of my life.

reply

So annoying. And they are discontinuing the bar so that people will have to buy the liquid cleanser which is four times as expensive and probably doesn't last as long.

reply

My friends have requested that I don't like the products that they like, because if I do, it will get discontinued.

reply

Yes that is also an occupational hazard for targeted individuals.

Back in the 80s Jack in the Box served a delicious ham and cheese sandwich. I was bummed when I was told they are no longer making this sandwich when I tried to order one so many years ago.

There oughta be a law !

I know, right?

Arby's had a Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich (crispy chicken, ham, swiss) that was really good. Now gone.

reply

This happens all the time with restaurants. The good ones go out of business and get replaced with the giant garbage chains.

I used to buy Dole Pineapple Orange Juice religiously for years and years. Then I noticed the flavor changed (mind you, I don't have the palate of a sommelier) and after a few more purchases I read the ingredients and sho nuff they had slipped some grape juice and apple juice into it. Never bought it since. And today it's really hard to just buy regular refrigerated pineapple juice, I'm going to have to buy it canned and pour it into an empty milk jug...

reply

That's the other thing they do with reducing the quality of the product so that it's cheaper to make.

reply

There’s always another one

Dove makes a good mild soap for sensitive skin but it's not as effective a cleanser as the Neutrogena one.

reply

I think you’re a guy but it’s hard to tell

Just soap your ass, your balls, your feet and your pits, hit your hair with cheap shampoo and hose it all off…just don’t stink…’Nuetrogena?’ My sister buys that!

reply

It's hard to tell who is what here at Moviechat that's for sure.

The key things for me are sensitive dry skin and bars of soap. I won't use liquid soap as a matter of principle. There is nothing wrong with bar soap. Liquid soap is a prissy affectation in my opinion. As far as shampoo goes even when I had hair I just use to wash it with a good mild bar of soap.

Several of us know who is what here at Moviechat

As long as you know that you are a sensitive person do whatever it is you do

reply

Liquid soap is a scourge on the environment. Burning more fuel just to move water. When I was growing up we ONLY used frozen concentrate juices.

reply

Yeah, but not only that. Sometimes a confectionery product is not discontinued but just altered so much it tastes very different than originally. Really disappointing when that happens.

reply

I stopped eating cake frosting when I was 21.

THAT IS ONE PERVERTED 21ST BIRTHDAY STORY WE WOULD ALL LIKE TO HEAR.

Remember the Twinkies Panic of 2011? The Hostess Company had shut down but was soon revived under the same name but with different owners.

Hostess products were at one time one of my favorites. The new products are definitely inferior and smaller in size. Hostess CupCakes are now dry and topped with a thin, brittle layer of frosting that shatters when you bite into it. The frosting used to be thicker and was more moist and creamy. I stopped buying Hostess snacks after this.

Dolly Madison Zingers were another one of my favorites that took a downturn. I found out the reason: the same company that revived the Hostess name took over Dolly Madison in 2013. Another brand to cross off my list.

True bakeries seem to be disappearing, too, and are being replaced with the in-store bakery departments found at the supermarket chains. These products are pre-mixed somewhere else, sent to the individual stores to be baked or reheated, then are touted as being "made fresh daily." The difference in taste and quality is obvious. Did they truly believe customers wouldn't notice?

Yet people continue to purchase these inferior items.

Yes! Thanks to COVID it took down 2!

It happened to the greatest coney island sauce, and I've tried a dozen other kinds, and they all sucked.
Since then, I don't eat hot dogs, etc..

This local Mexican couple would make the best tamales in the world. I would buy $150 worth a month, but when COVID hit, they went out of business. I've bought a handful or two, all kinds of tamales, and they all suck.
