Is there ever a day when you'd be comfortable with a gay feature film romance?

example.. Zachary Quinto and Jim Parsons

reply

Who's directing?

reply

Lana Wachowski

reply

The Wachowskis haven't made a good movie since 1999. I'll pass.

reply

Bound was great though
I always mistake it as being a 2000's movie.

reply

Bound and The Matrix. That's it. The sequels sucked too.

reply

Rob Zombie.

reply

I hate Rob Zombie, but that could be interesting.

reply

Fucking hell! You hate Rob Zombie AND KISS…Why do I speak even speak with you?!?

reply

I hate him as a director. I'm impartial to his music.

reply

AYE AYE AYE...HOW DO ANY OF US PUT UP WITH YOU?🤨

reply

You're just waiting for me to send nudes.

reply

I DO ENJOY MEDICAL ODDITIES!😉

reply

True. Not everyone has a 17 incher.

reply

NO THEY DO NOT...SAY...HOW LARGE IS THE OTHER TESTICLE IN COMPARISON?

reply

I hope the comparison is not to yours.

reply

Yes, I'm comfortable with gay romantic films now.

reply

It's been done already. What was "Brokeback Mountain" besides a horribly schmaltzy soap opera?

Jim Parsons lol yuck.

reply

I would be super comfortable with an(other) offbeat romantic comedy starring Alison Brie and Aubrey Plaza.

reply

Yes. Today, tomorrow, yesterday.

reply

Yes, I watched Vampyros Lesbos (1971) recently and I was quite comfortable with the gay scenes.

reply

If it doesn't involve 2 woman?

reply

Well, the only one I saw like that was Brokeback Mountain, and I don’t think those two dudes had taken a bath in days. Maybe I missed the part where they got cleaned up but it just didn’t seem right.

reply

Matt Bomer and Aaron Tveit in American Horror stories could be in a full length feature based on the house renos and I would be all over that

reply

The problem with it is the gay population is so small that it wouldn’t have mainstream success and one is going to see a movie that doesn’t appeal to them.

reply

What a flawed belief to cling to. There have been countless cases of mainstream audiences embracing films with prominently featured gay characters, superhero movies draw a sizable audience despite the vast majory of the general public not being superheroes.

Not everyone holds the same prejudices and you.

reply

It's not prejudice to state facts.

reply

And they often have to surprise the audience with it. It's not discrimination to state that you do not want to watch a romance between two dudes.

reply

So how do you explain Brokeback Mountain making $178 million on a $14 million budget? That seems like a mainstream success to me.

reply

How big is the spy population?
How big is the hitman population?
How big is the space alien population?

reply

Well, I'm an alien hitman/spy. So the population is at least three.

reply

I just came to say that very thing

reply

Just remembered that I've seen Supernova in the past year. Stanley Tucci and Colin Firth deliver some tender and heartfelt performances as a married couple in the midst of confronting a terrible affliction.
