Is there ever a day when you'd be comfortable with a gay feature film romance?

example.. Zachary Quinto and Jim Parsons

it will always be 'different' to me. i can't imagine ever watching a gay movie & it being something i can automatically sink into & involve myself in the story the way i ordinarily do.

reply

I'm not uncomfortable with it but it's nothing i'm ever going to find interesting. I only like romantic movies about rich good looking white people in NYC. Preferably set in the 90s.

Cool interesting vibe...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hce7OYnJnM

I am comfortable with that right now. I just wouldn't watch it.

This.

I saw Brokeback Mountain when it came out.

When "it" came out, or when "they" came out?

That day arrived ages ago. Literally watched a mediocre gay Christmas movie recently (Single All the Way) and I didn't hate it. If it has to be those two specific men you mentioned, I guess it would be fine. I'm fine if it's not them.

reply

I saw that too. Didn't love it or hate it. I think the lead (the white guy) was the weakest link in the film.

reply

I think he was as mediocre as most of the other cast members, maybe excepting Kathy Najimy. Loved him in Ugly Betty though - he's never topped his character from that show.

reply

I don't think there was ever a time when I would have been uncomfortable with a gay feature film romance.
My favourite romantic film at the moment is Imagine Me & You - I can't think of an equivalent male-male romance but I'm sure there is one out there somewhere.

I don't watch romances but I really don't care what the genders of lovers are 🤷🏻‍♀️
