Things That Annoy You

Unless you are a saint, there will probably be things in life that irritate you. What are some of those things?

Some of mine include:

1. People that lick yoghurt pot lids in public. It's quite sickening when you see their tongue coated in the yoghurt.

2. People that tailgate and speed up behind you when you are approaching a red light or a junction where you have to naturally lower your speed. Why are these people in such a hurry to
apply their brakes?

3. People that walk slow or don't move out of the way so that you can pass them.

4. People that use traffic light crossings when there is no approaching traffic from the left or right. They have ample time to cross the road without activating the traffic light pedestrian if they were only to glance to their left and right to see this. Instead, they automatically press the button, wait for the walk sign to appear and in doing so bring traffic to a halt.

People who stand in the doorway of any shop that have those motion activated beepers to alert the shopkeeper of customers. They let it beep over and over, seemingly oblivious to the fact they are making such a fucken racket.

reply

I hate that! Related: When people block the exit to chat. They can't seem to choose indoors or outdoors.

reply

Crappy neighbors, as in those who don't take reasonable care of their property and have junk laying seemingly everywhere around their yards/driveways.

Obnoxious accelerators, as in drivers who purposely make as much noise as possible when they accelerate. Partnered with those who downshift loudly instead of using their brakes.

Boom cars. I used to call them 3-block cars because you heard them 3 blocks coming and 3 blocks going, but then I learned they're called boom cars, those with speakers in their cars that have excessive bass sound. Completely annoying.

Light pollution. Businesses/apartment complexes, etc. with spotlights on their signs that blind passing drivers.

Yes, unnecessary noise and light pollution annoy me.

reply

I see you don’t like the cars, the cars that go boom.

reply

I can't stand noise either. It's worse when loud noise doesn't follow a pattern. I actually have to wear earplugs in public a lot. Fireworks are among the top worst inventions ever.

reply

I have a neighbor who likes to set off M-80s. In case you're unfamiliar with those, they're extremely loud and destructive fireworks that sound like a cannon blast just right outside my door, although he's two houses down the street. He always gets a head start on the 4th of July by several days, so I know what I'm in for in the near future. You mentioned a pattern. By now, he's demonstrated one by timing his blasts after what he thinks has been a prolonged period of tranquility in the neighborhood. Maybe he thinks he's being clever and mischievous. I see it as a perverse type of attention seeking.

reply

Yes, a few of my shitty neighbors buy those. I also live in a state that allows fireworks any night until 11pm, so people usually set them off from June until September. I've heard "shots" into October and as late as 2am. I need to move out to the country.

reply

You need to call the police.

reply

You need to dismount your pompous, high-horse and refrain from trying to tell me how to handle my personal problems, got it?

reply

It seems like he was just offering friendly advice.

reply

I wasn't being pompous. You mentioned the problem. It was a suggestion.

M-80s are illegal; that neighbor is not only rude but is committing a crime.

reply

What I did was, agree with and relate to RebelBlood on the subject of fireworks. Where in my post did you see me seeking help with a problem? And why are you automatically assuming that I'm unaware of their illegal status? That comment is just as arrogant as flat out telling me what I need to do. I think I'm the best judge of what my needs are and how to deal with a problem neighbor, because I know all the variables involved when it comes to making a decision.

reply

Okay. Whatever. I guess I misinterpreted your post. Sorry.

reply

1. High Heeled shoes

The clattering sounds people make when they walk in them is really annoying! people who wear them must all suffer from selective deafness or something because I don't know how anyone can stand to walk around all day making such a terrible racket.

(can't think of another one right now)

True

Who wants to watch a bunch of Hispanic and European dudes running around for three hours not scoring?

No wonder they chuck darts and beat the hell out of each other during these stupid games

No offense Europe, The Former Spanish Empire and Most of Africa😬

reply

Yes, because only Hispanic and European ethnic people play "soccer". Idiot.

reply

What? I mentioned Africa too..

reply

You didn't mention "The Former French Empire," "The Former Portuguese Empire," "The Former Dutch Empire," or "The Former British Empire."

reply

I left out those zany Ottoman's as well, shame on me!

reply

True, but as little as I know about soccer, those countries seem to suck out loud.

They are probably just totally bored playing soccer

Who can blame them?
