Things That Annoy You

Unless you are a saint, there will probably be things in life that irritate you. What are some of those things?

Some of mine include:

1. People that lick yoghurt pot lids in public. It's quite sickening when you see their tongue coated in the yoghurt.

2. People that tailgate and speed up behind you when you are approaching a red light or a junction where you have to naturally lower your speed. Why are these people in such a hurry to
apply their brakes?

3. People that walk slow or don't move out of the way so that you can pass them.

4. People that use traffic light crossings when there is no approaching traffic from the left or right. They have ample time to cross the road without activating the traffic light pedestrian if they were only to glance to their left and right to see this. Instead, they automatically press the button, wait for the walk sign to appear and in doing so bring traffic to a halt.

1. Full-grown adults who use baby-talk, thinking it's cute or clever.

2. People who ignore signs, thinking the rules don't apply to them. There's a restaurant in my area located on a busy road. The parking lot has only one exit and there is a sign clearly labeled RIGHT TURN ONLY because making a left turn is nearly impossible when there is a lot of traffic. Not to mention it's dangerous to attempt this. How many times have I sat there and sat there waiting to exit because someone ahead of me is bound and determined to make a left turn? I guess the sign is just there for decoration.

3. People who feel the need to make noise.

4. People and their stupid dogs.

Yes.

I totally went ape shit last summer because of my trashy neighbors. One neighbor got a dog that barked upwards of 12 hours a day. This thing barked as soon as the wind blew or a gate rattled and his owners loved it, I guess because he was being used as their personal junkyard dog. Never mind the neighbors who the dog was disturbing.

Another neighbor started inviting trashy jerks to hang out in front of his house, and these people talked and laughed loudly on a quiet residential street filled with middle aged, elderly and retiree homeowners, some who are well into their 80s. Keep in mind that it wasn't normal "this is summer and we're excited" loudness where occasionally their voices got a little loud. These people were laughing and talking with loud BOOMING voices as if it bothered them how quiet our neighborhood was and wanted to make it feel as "lively" as possible.

I rarely go to restaurants and definitely avoid the "sports bar"-type venues for this very reason. Music/TVs blasting, people conversing loudly, obnoxious laughing and cackling. Not to mention the way people dress in these establishments. I'm all for casual and comfortable wear, but c'mon, folks, please show some self-respect and dignity when you're in public, especially in a restaurant where others have to look at you while they are eating.

I don't get the "excited about summer" mindset, either. July and August are the most miserable months of the year. There's nothing to celebrate, let alone make noise about.

I hope you called the police on those neighbors.

This is the 21st Century but I swear our society is devolving.

I could call the police, but unfortunately, they couldn't give a shit here in NYC. It's a free-for-all now. One idiot who's running for mayor--and is NYPD--actually encouraged hoodrats to set off as many fireworks as they wanted and told residents to "talk things out" with them if they were being annoying. A woman followed his advice and was killed.

People that riot and loot and set fire to buildings in protest of perceived systemic racism.

People that stop at junctions and islands and put the hand brake on when there's clearly nothing coming.

- people who walk backwards and shout their goodbye tidings to their buddy.

#2. I agree. Why use your brakes, when you can coast to a stop. Its a red light , where the hell do you think you're going.😵

There are a lot of irritating behaviors and experiences already listed in this thread and I agree with pretty much every one

Inadequate sentencing for violent criminals makes me more upset than any of the peeves listed

It's good to be very upset about that. Seeing this made me angrier than any pet peeve: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uD_9ilmsYKw
