Immortality

Like the feather of the Phoenix, is it real?

reply

Unknown. The only immortality I know of is in the spiritual realm, and not everyone believes in that.

There are scientific efforts to extend human lifespan or to even find a chemical "fountain of youth," but frankly, we haven't gotten there yet.

reply

If there is a god, then we’ll never extend the Earthly lifespan beyond what it is now. Isn’t there a part in the Bible that says God limited man’s years to 120 ( I think after the flood) . That’s right about where our oldest people get to now.

reply

After the Apocalypse I think the survivors are immortal.

reply

I hope not.

reply

aw it's not that bad Quasi

reply

It only seems that way to you because you haven't thought it through you little furball.

reply

I am immortal.

reply

Bloody koalas...

reply

Our genes are basically almost immortal. They were here since forever. As long as there's no armageddon they will still be here.

Congratulations on your 10,000th post.

reply

I know your trying that thing where if you say your not something i will think you are. lol haha

reply

No. I say what I mean, and I mean what I say. How others interpret my words is beyond my control. And btw, our genes are not immortal, but our atoms basically are. All of our atoms came from inside of stars. So as the great Carl Sagan once profoundly said, "We are all of us, made of star stuff."

BTW, I'm currently watching Cosmos III. It's pretty good, but Neil DeGrasse Tyson is no Carl Sagan.

😎

reply

Yes MovieMan I know that I was only joking. So true. We are all star dust. The Earth was just an atom once. And it still is, atoms. and other things. idk i don't have a memory for this. I like the sound of Carl Sagan.

Yep you inspired me. I'm going to watch a movie.

reply

Excellent! As Sagan also said "Billions and billions..."

Marvel Has Reportedly Already Chosen Fury's Replacement.

The minute they start uploading people into computers, i'm jumping off a cliff. The only thing that makes life bearable is knowing it's gonna end soon.

reply

oh. what if it already is? surely we would know about that! make sure you wear something to land the jump like a small parachute or wing suit. i'll push you.

reply

and jump after you hun are you okay?

Asking for immortality but forgetting to ask for eternal youth

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AgeWithoutYouth

reply

That one actually goes back to ancient Greece.

You need invulnerability too, as anyone who's ever seen "Death Becomes Her" knows.

reply

And infinite strength, otherwise you might find yourself incarcerated, buried alive, or otherwise trapped somewhere indefinitely.

reply

So basically, for immortality to be any use, you need to be Superman!

So along with the immortality, invulnerability, and infinite strength, I'd like to be able to fly!

Send the superpower along with my winning lottery ticket.

reply

DBH references, hard to come by.

reply

Never seen it, and refuse to watch that movie. Whether that's good or not.

reply

I like the movie, but I can't call it great.

reply

interesting i imagine immortality as eternal youth in immortality, i have to reassess this

reply

do you take acid/shrooms?

reply
