Does it really take an hour to cook a baked potato?!

You can nuke them in like 5 minutes if you need a fast potato.

My husband starts them out in the microwave and then finishes with 10 min in a very hot oven - they come out great.

I can never control the reaction and end up wiping out an entire city. The worst part is that the potato is still crunchy afterwards. Oh yeah, and the two headed mutants.

It's really all about planning. Put your taters in early and then prepare the rest of your meal, set the table, take a leak, etc., etc.

They'll be done when it's chow time.

Yeah that’s what I did. Only instead of setting the table I just drank wine and prepped the steak.

Use a microwave, but first puncture the potato six or seven times with a sharp knife.

That and you can also wrap them with a wet paper towel.

I always wrap them in a sandwich bag with seven holes punctured with a toothpick. But that's just me.

When I was growing up we had these metal rods that you would stick into the potato. It conducts heat into the middle and lessens the cooking time. Browsing amazon I came across this. Looks pretty cool.

Actually longer if you want it crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle

Or put olive oil and salt on the skin before cooking. That makes the outside crispy.

Potato is one of them crazy foods that actually tastes better microwaved than it does baked.

Pressure cooker is supposed to make great baked potatoes but i've never tried it.
