Germans make the best beer
Hands down
shareGerman beer is good, but I have to say my favourite beers are American. Bud and Miller are my Top 2.
I found Bintang beer quite easy to drink on my recent holiday in Bali too. Smooth and refreshing.
Not so fond of local Australian beer. Crown Lager is probably the best. Victorian Bitter (VB), which is one of the most popular, is not too dissimilar to cat urine in my opinion. Don't even mention Fosters, it might be Aussie by origin but there's a reason we ship it all over to the UK haha
I kind of class some American beers as German as the creators would most likely have a German background. I like Bud and Miller a lot.
I'm Aussie and don't think much of Aussie beer either, VB is awful and harsh. All the craft beers are kind of "meh" too.
Yeah I agree. Although have you tried James Squire 150 Lashes? Not a bad brew.
shareMy favorite is Yuengling. I used to enjoy Michelob, but it's hard to find now other than the Light version.
shareGermany is definitely a top contender, but I'm going to have to vote for the United States. The microbrew industry has absolutely exploded the last decade and theres tons of innovation out there.
shareHere in lowly Reno the micro-brewery industry is quite something. Really great beer of many styles is made here.

At one time, yes. As Eric Idle said, American beer is like making love in a canoe. It is fucking close to water.
But that is no longer true.
Our massed produced beer like Budweiser and Coors is pretty bad, but as of last year, there were roughly 6,266 Microbreweries, which make excellent beers of all varieties.
shareI checked and I must confess it's surprising
https://www.statista.com/chart/4001/the-countries-with-the-most-craft-breweries/
However, for some reason, you don't see a few very good microbreweries evolving into full breweries. Now I think about that, that's kind of usual status quo last years in western countries: a lot of star-ups and people trying to innovate, but they stay small, they don't grow.
Opinions aside, there's a reason why Japanese beer is modeled after German brewing methods.
shareAnd their whiskey can be compared to the very best scotch
shareAny potable liquid can be compared the very best scotch. That doesn't mean that it's anything close in quality to the very best scotch.
shareI'll take your word but thought Suntory had a good reputation
https://www.thrillist.com/drink/nation/suntory-yamazaki-50-year-japanese-whisky-most-expensive-whiskey
Suntory is a brand of whiskey so excellent that it acquired Jack Daniels. Doesn't mean it compares to the best scotch
shareJack Daniels is owned by Brown-Forman, an American corporation (undetected sarcasm?).
I'm not a scotch connoisseur, so, off topic, what are your favorite scotches?
My mistake. Suntory owns Jim Beam, Makers Mark and related brands. Jack Daniels is a decent well shot.
As far as proper scotch goes: Glenfiddich, Tamdhu, Glengoyne, and Macallan isn't too bad either.
One thing is certain...in 50 years...high end scotch whiskies will still be hard to spell.
shareAfter the third drink I can't taste any of it...just keep it coming
shareGermans and Czechs make the best lager.
Other types of beers is a different matter.
